Like most little kids, Katie sometimes loses her temper. And when Katie is really mad, she's just not herself. Sometimes, she's Bombaloo. Being Bombaloo is scary. But a little time-out and a lot of love can help calm Bombaloo down and help Katie feel like Katie again. With warmth, humor, and extraordinary insight, this reassuring picture book shows kids that everyone gets angry sometimes...and that having a tantrum isn't the best way to cope.

wonderful language and fabulous illustrations. this book depicts a healthy, happy, growing child who is overwhelmed, at times, by tantrums. The author normalizes the experience by showing that good kids can have tantrums and regain calm afterward.

Not only is the book laugh-out-loud funny, it has an inspirational message. Katie Honors, the preschool character, sometimes loses control of her anger and uses her fists instead of her words to express herself, she becomes Bombaloo. Her mother sets limits and helps Katies work through Bombaloo with patience and love. This book has left such an impact on my four year old that we now call getting really, really angry Bombaloo. This is definately one of our most loved books.
