I enjoyed reading this book. Surprised about her secret..but it made sense...
Claudia is a witch who owns a café catering to supernaturals as well as humans. She also runs a coven, and when three new witches come to town, she visits each one to invite them to join. One of the witches ends up dead in an apparent suicide, but Claudia doesn’t believe it. On top of trying to get in the good graces of her boyfriend’s family, trying to uncover the family secret, and trying to find out who stole some of her mom’s books of spells, she has a lot on her plate. Will Claudia get to the bottom of everything before it’s too late? I have read one other book by Ms. Dragon before and was glad I was granted access to another one. She has a way of writing that makes each book fun, interesting, and hard-to-put down. I always get wrapped up in what’s happening and have a good time. I have to admit, though, I was a little aggravated towards the end with what happened with Bran (I don’t want to say too much and spoil it!). I haven’t read the first one, so maybe I missed something that would have made it a little less aggravating for me. However, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this great book; it just made me want to read the next one in the series. If you like light, fun, cozy, paranormal mysteries, give this one a try. Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed. This same review will be posted on both Goodreads, B&N, and Amazon.
Spells to Die For is a wonderful cozy mystery filled with terrific characters you want to know more about. In this installment coffee house owner and witch Claudia Crestwood is bound and determined to uncover the secret her family is hiding from her. And of course there is a murder to clear up and then there is her boyfriend Bran and his family to deal with. I love that Claudia is not a pushover and is true to herself. I really look forward to more adventures at the Witch's Brew.
