4.5 Stars Spurred on is the third book in the Stripped Down series. I have been anxiously awaiting Cody’s book to find the woman strong enough to tame him and I can tell you it was worth the wait because in walked Sidney. I just loved this book, both the primary character interaction and all the other characters come together to give a fabulous addition to this series. If you love a great cowboy series do yourself a favor and grab the Stripped Down series you will love it.

Since the introduction of the Double S Ranch, I’ve wanted Cody’s story –and watch him as besotted as the others who have found love, in rather unconventional ways, in this series. He’s got that whole “it’s not for me” vibe working when it comes to relationships, and believes that love is not, and never would be, for him. Cody is just about everything that you would hope for: finding a way to support what he loves with something that, while not his first choice, fits on his ranch, and allows him to make some much needed cash. And, with having the ‘hen party weekends’ full of women looking to fill cowboy fantasies, and plenty of options, he’s managed to scratch the itch without getting too close to anyone. But, this book makes a couple of turns to get us to the REALLY good stuff. First, the timeframe of Cody and Sidney’s story closely follows the first book (Stripped Down), in which Logan and Hanna found their moment. And we are jumping back to the planning of the bachelorette party that was the main event. See, Hanna’s party was planned by her sister, Sidney, and when she appears at Cody’s ranch to finalize the details, Cody is thrown back to the last time he saw her, and the damage she did to him when she left him. And oh the tension between these two is strong: poor Sidney realizing she’s still angry with Cody, and that perhaps, maybe, oh, okay, she does still care and he’s grown up to be one heck of a specimen. And, yes, she knows the reputation that follows him, with discarded conquests scattered across the stableyard like old straw. But, she really never was able to forget him. And, he will be key to her showing Hanna just how wrong her upcoming marriage is. Poor Cody, never quite sure what hit him, when he realizes that he never forgot or stopped wanting Sidney, but he’s got to find a way to show her….. Heart, heat, humor all mix together to bring the story to light. Cody and Sidney who, despite their inability to just say what they mean at first, are truly adorable, and even as everyone seems to be embroiled in ‘something’ else, they manage to take center stage. Bringing the whole series together with opportunities to see (again) characters and couples from earlier books, fixes these friends and lovers in your heart, and on your shelf. York’s ability to keep a lightness and balance in her tales, even when real issues and concerns arise make for wonderful and engaging moments, peppered with unforgettable dialogue, laugh out loud moments and plenty of steam. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Avid readers of this amazing series have been impatiently waiting for Cody Silver to fall, and fall hard, and that definitely includes me! A purported womaniser with commitment issues, Cody is loved and hated for his movie star looks, easy swagger and unrepentant love of the fairer sex. But Cody has a secret that no one knows and would be even less inclined to believe. Ms York threw me a little with the beginning of this book, as I felt like I was rereading mini scenes from previous stories; but I soon realised that travelling back in time set the passage of events that would ultimately unfold and lead to the final nail-biting climax (no pun intended). Our favourite characters are front and centre, and the emotional turmoil of family woes, unexpressed feelings and false assumptions, all combine to make this another fabulous story. And O.M.G…..wait till you read the end! Thank you Ms York for keeping this reader thoroughly entertained and constantly wanting more!

3.75 stars--SPURRED ON is the third (and final?) full length installment in Sabrina York’s contemporary, adult STRIPPED DOWN cowboy, romance series focusing on the men and women of the Double S Ranch –the Silver’s family owned ranch that doubles as a ‘party house’ or ‘stud ranch’ for private parties. This is Double S Ranch owner Cody Silver, and Sidney Stevens’s story line. SPURRED ON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines are revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Sidney and Cody) SPURRED ON focuses on the rekindling/second chance romance between Double S Ranch owner Cody Silver, and the woman that calls to his heart Sidney Stevens. Ten years earlier Cody made the biggest mistake of his life following a one-night stand with Sidney Stevens wherein he walked away and into the arms of another woman. Fast forward to present day when Sidney schedules her sister’s bachelorette party at the Double S Ranch rekindling the romance between herself and Cody Silver. Sidney’s hatred for Cody is tempered by their attraction and palpable sexual energy only to be doused over and over as jealousy, miscommunication and fear are constantly getting in the way. The relationship between Cody and Sidney is tempestuous at best. Sidney despises Cody, and has a difficult time separating her hatred and the lust for a man that calls to her heart. Cody knows he screwed up and tries desperately to explain the circumstances and what happened years before but Sidney is unwilling to let go of the past adding more pain and heartbreak to the tentative romance. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive. All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting roles. Sidney’s sister Hannah struggles in her current relationship, and takes the opportunity to rekindle a love from her past-as well. The back and forth banter between all of the characters is fun adding a humorous element to the story line premise. The epilogue fast forwards the series by several years where we get a glimpse into the future and the ever expanding families. SPURRED ON is a story of love, romance, family and friendships. The premise is energetic; the characters are passionate; the romance struggles with one woman’s inability to let go of the past.
