The book Stealing Air is wrote by Trent Reedy. The books genre is science fiction. This books relates to the book October Skies because three boys are trying to build an aircraft. The book is about a boy Brian that tries to fit in a new town. The story is told from the point of view of Brian (which is first person) trying to adapt to a new town Riverside, Iowa coming from a big city Seattle, Washington to a small town. This is set in the modern times. The protagonist is Brian Robert. The problems in Brains life are trying to fit in with all the new people he meets and avoiding his bully "Frankie". Brian is barely entering the sixth grade and he likes to skateboard, his daily routine is to wake up eat breakfast, skateboard to school then after school go home eat supper then go meet up with Alex and Max (his new friends) in the Eagles Nest. Max is very intelligent he likes Star Trek and science, Max is a Catalyst character because he gets the whole operation moving. Alex is very good with his bets because he knows his stats before he bets any money, Alex Is a round character because he tells the truth straight out and maybe hurts someone's feelings. Frankie is the bully in Brian's life, he likes to find a way to hurt Brian and Max outside of school or during school. In the beginning of the story Brian is trying to fit in the new town by going to the skate park and skateboarding. He gains a new friend at the skate park named Alex, and while escaping his new bully at the skate park he makes another friend named Max and all three of then are building something for there parents work and business opportunity. I think that the author had a good modern day setting in Riverside, Iowa. The characters were very interesting. The protagonist was very exiting and somewhat brave. The theme of he book is that friendship can go a long way if it is with the right people, this important if you always had the wrong fiends that will lead you to the wrong path and not the right one. Like in the book Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief if you had the right friends you would go a long way and succeed. I will rate this book a 5 out of 5 because I liked this book a lot and this is the only book I actually liked reading at home. I recommend this book to people or kids that like reading invention books or books where people build things.
