About the Author

Rodney D. Phoenix, DDS, MSD, FACP, is a Colonel in the US Air Force and currently serves as the Director of Resident Education in the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his dental degree from The Ohio State University and his master's degree in prosthodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In addition, Dr Phoenix received a certificate in dental biomaterial from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is currently an assistant professor and an assistant chairman in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he also has a practice specializing in prosthodontics. Dr Phoenix has published works in the fields of dental material, restorative dentistry, and prosthodontics. He is also a reviewer and section editor for the Yearbook of Dentistry and the Journal of Prosthodontics.
