About the Author

Christel Gollnick, founder of the nonprofit intergenerational leadership development and team-building organization Roots & Rounds, Inc., and her company JUPER Communications, LLC, enjoys helping people grow and work better together. She specializes in helping difference-makers in nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development management improve their communications, relationships, and performance. She has shared her servant leadership attitude and head for strategy with dozens of clients over thirty years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Augustana University, Sioux Falls, SD, and her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Nonprofit Management from Northcentral University, La Jolla, CA. Christel is a Hawley, MN native who now lives in northwest Missouri between Kansas City and St. Joseph in a log home with her husband, daughter, and French Brittany. She is a lifelong lover of camping adventures, children's literature, flying hot air balloons, designing quilts, gardening, cooking, and hosting gatherings of family and friends who have many different life perspectives. A Gen-Xer, Christel has learned that the root principles of inclusivity, respect, and innovative resilience are what empower people of all ages to maximize their potential in their next round of goals.

Kelly Heinz is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Kansas City, MO. Her biggest inspiration is the beautiful world around her. When she isn't creating, she can be found reading, hiking, and spending time with her family. This is her first picture book, and she can't wait to share her artwork with readers of all ages!
