About the Author

Sharon Gates was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan in 1944. Her mother was a school teacher/rancher; her father was a calf roper/rancher. Sharon has lived with horses all her life and turned to the horse business in the seventies to provide a living for herself and her three children. Wildwood Reining Horses is that business. Along the way, she wrote and published several horse training articles, poems, and anecdotal pieces. In 2010, she published her first book, A Life With Horses.

Sharon now resides in the Chilcotin region of British Columbia, where she breeds, trains and shows reining horses. She continues to write as time allows and recently has began a series of handbooks for reining horses. Stop Fixes is the second in this series.
