Overview

Stripping the Billionaire (Heirs of Damon, #4) by Noelle Adams

For the last eight months, Mandy has lived across the hall from a caveman.

He won't trim his beard, he mostly talks in grunts, and he'll hardly emerge from his cave of an apartment. Ben might be a grumpy mess, but she kind of likes him anyway. She's not attracted to him, of course. Not at all. Those stray feelings are merely a fluke. She's looking for a man who has it all together, and Ben isn't even close.

Benjamin Damon is heir to a billion-dollar corporate empire, but he has put his family and that whole lifestyle behind him. No one knows who he is now—not even his pretty princess of a neighbor who refuses to leave him alone.

When she ropes him into taking her with him to work on his mother's historic Savannah home, he knows it's a mistake. Mandy represents the world he's tried so hard to escape, and he can't let one woman strip him of the new man he's tried to become. The more he's with her, though, the more he wants her. Despite his best efforts, he's falling for her hard—and dreading the day she finds out all of his lies.

Basic misunderstood mismatched but really right for each other story - orphan trust fund heiress is a hard working interior decorator who falls for the scruffy gruff architect neighbor. Benjamin is really the billionaire nephew of the Damon hotel magnate, but got tired of never being able to please his high standards controlling uncle, and gave up family and fortune to be on his own. Lots of extra family characters are sprinkled throughout, but the story focus here is primarily on the neighborly friendship turned into hot sexual encounter. Does she want too much from him? Will he reconcile with family? He can't or won't change for her, not realizing she loves him the way he is. Several minor grammatical glitches that should have been cleaned up in editing, but weren't. Two stars, only 125 pages - ok for light afternoon read, but not really memorable.

Normally Im not a romance reader but this was a cute story that I read in one sitting. Even though it was book four in a series I was able to read it without reading the others first.

I enjoyed the storyline and the journey the author took us on. However the characters themselves lacked life, the relationship felt rushed, and some of the Grammer used was clumsy and really ruined scenes being painted. Overall I wouldn't reread this book.

Well written though my one wish was that he would have to win her back a little.
