Ami Dark-Rosen believes every person has a story to tell and she tells her own in "Stronger Through Christ: A Mother's Memoir". Ami who was diagnosed with childhood diabetes tells her story of growing up 'different' and the hardships she faced then and all through her life. Some 'hardships' (mainly health related) seeming to be a snowball effect that she thinks was started when she was a child and not taking care of herself and believed they were temporary. Most were not but despite all that has happened to her, she is blessed. With the love of her friends and family plus her strong Christian faith she has come through it without giving up. Not only was Ami faced with health issues time after time but she was faced with being a young married women who wanted a family yet knew her body couldn't take a pregnancy. Later on in her life she was faced with a troubled marriage despite counseling she felt that her husband was growing apart and she questioned his loyality to her. She also is encountering a society that 'sees' a wheelchair but not the person in it. They fail to see that just because someone is in a wheelchair does not mean they are any less of a person, wife or mother. I recommend anyone who is having health issues or is questioning 'why me' and wondering where Christ is and why he is letting these bad things happen to them to read this inspiring story.

Stronger Through Christ is written as a true testament of faith by author Ami Dark-Rosen. Her book is an inspiration for any person of Christian faith and belief in God, or any person with a disease and /or disability who desires to live a normal life. The author gives the reader a glimpse of living with diabetes as a child and on through her present adult life. She shares the dangers of health related coma, and the resulting disability. When she wakes and realizes her condition, she fully believes it will be temporary and she will be able to rehabilitate her body back to full mobility. Ami is a young woman of faith with a wedding to plan regardless of the trauma in her body. Her power of perseverance is awesome as she fights to recover her life. She is determined to enjoy life with her new husband as they start a new life together. They build a new home which is designed for her to be mobile and unrestricted. What is missing?? A baby to love and nourish! Read as Ami and her husband are approved as adoptive parents to a beautiful baby girl. But, in the midst of seemingly answered prayers and fulfilled dreams, more disaster lurks. I won’t give away spoilers and details, but read the book to follow Ami through devastating and heartrending events in her life. As I read the story I wondered, how much more will she have to surrender to the disease of diabetes? How many more personal heartaches? Ami’s faith carried her through tremendous obstacles with her health and in her personal life. A true woman warrior in our current day. She has battled the odds, and survived...she has not been conquered!!

Ami was diagnosed with diabetes as a child. This is her story of how God has been there with her as the disease has attempted to control her life. She went through her childhood always feeling different from her friends. In her teenage years she didn't take very good care of herself. Like most teenagers it wasn't the most important thing going on in her life...or so she thought. Unfortunately this proves to be detrimental to her future and she soon finds herself fighting for her life. Even though she wins the battle, her life is never the same and she realizes her life will be a battle from that point on. Although she struggles with where her life is, often times feeling bitter and sorry for herself, she never looses faith in God. She knows this is His ultimate plan for her and she trusts Him. The author's committment to the Lord is an amazing thing, and she is extremely encouraging. I would recommend this book to anyone who has gone through a difficult life and questions where God is when you need him. I did find several grammer/typo mistakes in the book, but it wasn't bad enough to become distracting. It is a quick and enjoyable read. I recieved this book free for reviewing.
