About the Author
I am an IT project manager and software engineer by trade. I am a people helper by nature. I was the primary family caregiver for four years during my wife's battle with glioblastoma - stage 4 brain cancer. My first book is in progress. Called Suddenly a Caregiver, I share the story of Lynne's courage during her fight and the caregiving experience and the lessons learned along the journey. I hope that sharing this will help someone else with that responsibility should they face a similar situation.

I felt the love the author felt for his wife coming through the pages as I read them. He shares his caregiving experiences from his wife's initial diagnosis to when she lost her battle with cancer. Mr. Pendergrass takes those experiences to give the reader help when navigating their own healthcare crises and to provide tips for avoiding burnout. He turned a devastating experience into something positive for others. I enjoyed reading it. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Suddenly a Caregiver is a family recipe for hope in crises. It provides a picture of love that will sustain and endure through any life-threatening tragedy. The book is a road map for a quality of life that bonds two hearts even closer in view of the temporary separation that comes with one passing on due to a terminal illness. Their faith in God assured the temporary nature of separation. Should be read by any who are facing such a situation with a loved one.
Beautifully written! So many lessons can be learned in caring for a terminally ill patient or an aging parent. This patient was blessed to have a wonderful husband and family. They were immensely blessed to have her!
This book is extremely helpful. He writes about his own personal experience and yet, I feel I can relate to so much he and his family have been through. In addition, the information he shares regarding stress and burnout was something I had not yet thought of. Definitely would recommend this to a friend, in fact I have. I believe you will find this book informative and insightful too.
