I have so much that I want to say about this book, but I am sure I will never be able to do it justice. I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning trying to finish it. I didn't want it to end. I fell asleep with it still in my hands and when I woke, it was the first thing I wanted to see. (My poor hubby lol) Nichole has been one of my favorite authors since she first started and published Mortal Obligation, but with this book it boosted her even more and now has a permanent place on my top favorite-have to read everything-I must own all her books-kinda author for the rest of her entire writing career. Suddenly Royal is amazing! It was a story that I wanted to climb into and be the character, I wanted to live the life she let me have a glimpse at. Stories like these are where dreams are made. I wanted to a part of the story and I ached that it wasn't real and it had to end. Prince Yummy was incredible and I Royally wished he were real!

To say I inhaled this book would be an understatement. From the very start I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. Thankfully I had a free day to read and devoured it within a few hours total. There are no words to express how much I truly loved this book. And if Ms. Chase thinks that she can get away with this being a one book deal, she has another thing coming. I was introduced to these awesome people and I know that the rest of them have a story to tell. There is more romances to write and Ms. Chase better get to writing. I have never read THE PRINCESS DIARIES but I have seen the movies. And they are great. The storyline of SUDDENLY ROYAL is similar but Chase gives her special touch making it all her own. So if you love the books or the movies, you guys are going to love, love SUDDENLY ROYAL. Just think of it as a NEW ADULT version…but so much better. Seriously, so much better. We are talking tubs here people. And not normal tubs…large, royal tubs. Oh gosh. Now I need to go reread it again. *Fans self* Alex D’Lynsal. Whoa. Let me tell you a little about him. He is confident but not cocky. Sexy but not arrogant. And it doesn’t take long for him to fall for our girl, Sam. From the moment he lays eyes on her, he is smitten as a kitten. Alex is one of the good guys. He is a Prince, but definitely one of the good guys. I just hate that it took Sam so long to see that. Good thing he is a persistent. Samantha Rousseau. Is this girl ever saucy. She has a good head on her shoulders but isn’t one to keep her opinions to herself. In fact, she will call you on your BS if you are out of line. So learning to be a Duchess is going to be a huge task for her. Thankfully she has a little help from Prince Yummy. From the time she meets Alex she feels things for him. But he is a Prince for crying out loud. What could she possibly offer him? Alex is going to have his work cut out for him trying to convince her she has everything to offer. And he ain’t stopping until he gets her. The pace of the story flows easily and as you're going along you think it’s just a light, romantic read. But then the end nears and there is a scene that nearly broke my heart into tiny little pieces. I won't get into what happens, but it hit so close to home for me that I had tears in my eyes. It was truly a hard scene to read but it was the perfect fit for the story. Some scenes just have to be written and Chase nailed it. Even though it was emotional for me, it was written really well. I really hope you will give SUDDENLY ROYAL a chance and I think once you do, you will fall as hard as I did for it. It was such a great read and I would love for Chase to write more and make this a series. I could never get enough of her books and stories. Pick it up today!

Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase was just the type of book I needed to get me out of the reading slump I have been in lately. With a feisty main character, a Prince Yummy, and all this royalty business, it was the perfect mix of romance and a modern-day fairytale. I absolutely love the character of Sam! Sam faced a lot of tough situations in this story before AND after finding out she was part of the royal family and through it all she had this spunk to her. She wasn’t afraid to put people in their place and if something bugged her she would call someone out on it in a highly entertaining (to me) way. But Sam was more than just a feisty character, she was also so sweet, insecure at times, and extremely loyal to those that she loved (this is most evident in Sam’s relationship with her sick stepfather. Their relationship both broke my heart and made me incredibly happy at the same time). I especially loved how all of these personality traits made Sam seem like a real person to me. She faced all these crazy situations with a consistently fun personality and by the time I was finished reading this book it felt like I had made a new friend. I especially like what Nichole did with this story. Suddenly Royal is like a mix of The Princess Diaries and The Prince & I but she also added her own little spin on it. For one, the characters are older which made me happy because us older girls want to be princesses too! When Sam finds out that she is a descendent of the royal family from a small European country, it takes her a long time to come to terms with it. Finding out you are royalty is most definitely deserving of a freak out session or two so her resigned acceptance of it made the story seem just that much more believable. Sure the money and fame would be cool but there are also drawbacks to being in the public eye at all times so it was great to have a main character that was very cautious of that. I also liked that the one thing holding Sam back from truly embracing her title and her budding romance with Prince Yummy was herself. At times she was too scared to give in to her feelings and other times she was a bit insecure which made her very relatable. It also allowed Sam to grow and learn as a character which made me all sorts of happy to see! To help Sam through the many adjustments from transforming from a grad student into royalty is an awesome set of characters a.k.a. the staff that works to keep Sam and the rest of the royal family safe and on task. I absolutely ADORED meeting them all; they added so much fun to this story, each one having a quirky personality. I especially LOVED Chadwick! Chadwick, Sam’s assistant was hilarious and supportive of Sam but was also an equal match to her stubbornness so it made for some entertaining encounters between the two. You could see the friendships budding between Sam with a lot of these characters and it was fun to see. And what’s a princess story without a little romance? Prince Yummy a.k.a. Alex had me swooning from the beginning of this story. Yes he is a prince, yes he has an accent, yes he is hot, and while all three reasons are GREAT reasons to swoon all over the place, those are not the only reasons why I loved Alex and his relationship with Sam so much. Alex, although he has a past that hints at his flirtatious, woman-loving ways, what surprised me immensely was his devotion to Sam. Their relationship started out slow with the two of them being just friends despite the obvious attraction between the two. Alex noticed that Sam had a lot of hesitations and worries and didn’t seem to mind waiting for her, letting her take the time to adjust before progressing their relationship further. I liked that Nichole took this approach to the relationship because not only did it allow all the feelings to grow between both characters but it also seemed realistic considering Sam has so much else going on in her life. Throughout the whole transition from rags to riches, Alex is there for Sam either offering her advice for the spotlight or stealing her away for a few hours to get her mind off of all the craziness. Alex, with his charm, humor, sweetness, and of course the accent, will likely have you swooning too! If you are looking for a totally adorable romance, a snarky main character, and a modern-day fairytale to carry you away for a day or two, I suggest picking up a copy of Suddenly Royal!

This book was a nice departure from the usual! It was a bit like princess diaries but had a kick to it. I loved Samantha and Alex and am so relieved that the book had an ending, not the cliff hangers that are out there now! Both characters were very likeable.

This book is horrible. It is highly inappropriate. I came into it expecting something like The Princess Diaries and while it was at first, it soon got very dirty. There are a lot of makeout sessions which is fine with me but there was a sex scene which shouldnt have been there and was entirely too graphic for anyone.

totally cute and sweet. it was really a light read, but I admit - I did tear up once or twice. like a more adult version of princess diaries or something. I enjoyed it!

I looooved this book! It is a modern fairytale, but it is told in a realistic, relatable way. Is it predictable? Absolutely! But, regardless, I literally did not put this book down until I finished it. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because it was too graphic (and if you don't know what I mean, then you're definately too young to be reading this book!). I'm not saying that made it a bad book, butjustgiving a heads up to any unsuspecting reader (like I was). Would I recommend it? Definately. Just don't be fooled by the innocent princess on the cover because this book is for mature readers.

This was a great book with some really funny parts. The majority of the story is realistic, but it still has that fantasy feel. The love scenes were descriptive, but not iver the top. Great read.

I decided to take a risk on this one and boy was I sorely disappointed with this book! It contained way too much inappropriate romance in it. This was my first romance novel and I think I will be scared off of them for a while. Maybe I am naive about what romance authors do write about (I was hoping it would be similar to the maturity level of Selection by Kierra Cass) but I do not plan to purchase any other books from this author.

I really loved this book. I could not put it down and hope there is another book. I would love to hear about their wedding and what happens next with them.

I don't understand all the high reviews of this book. It was just barely ok to me. The sex scenes sounded like they were written from one of those books of romantic phrases. Poor character development, especially the hero. The fairytale was a little believably written. Hence the 2 stars.

This story had a sweet romance between Sam and Alex. They had great chemistry together. The kind of chemistry that really heats up a room. Alex was so patient with Sam and that along with him being a generally nice person made me fall in love with him. If you love romance with great chemistry and loveable characters then you'll enjoy this book.

## Fantastic read. It's very different from anything I've ever read. I guess charming is a word that comes to mind. I adored the heroine. Cute, feisty and so incredibly real. And the hero was appropriately named Prince Yummy. When he said: "you're it for me" I just wanted to melt. There really isn't much conflict in this story. I kept waiting for the obligatory misunderstanding but it never came. I definitely like the second half of the book a little better than the first half only because there were almost too many details/descriptions. But it did make me smile and I love that.

As a reader who loves regency era historical romances, I always jump at the chance to read a contemporary romance that involves modern day aristocracy. Give me a commoner who somehow manages to spark the interest of a Duke, Earl or **gasps** a Prince and I'm there. So when I saw Abbie Glines share a link to this book on Facebook, I had to have it. Samantha Rosseau, wildlife biology grad student, has her life turned upside down when a meeting with a visiting Duchess (who she thinks requested the meeting regarding a donation to the school's wildlife program) tells her they think she is the the heiress to a Dukedom in the country of Lilaria, Sam finds her world turned upside down. While she digests the information, His Royal Highness, Alex D’Lynsal, insists on helping Sam navigate the media storm the blows in while she makes her decision about venturing to Lilaria and claiming her birthright. What neither of them expect is the attraction between them. Alex may want to pursue more, but can he convince Sam that she's worthy of him, despite what she might think? I loved the story, Sam and Alex. There was something magical about the whole thing. The fact that this tiny country would track down it's lost descendants and do whatever they could to restore the aristocracy. That this country would welcome a socially awkward American girl, with open arms. And most importantly, that the heir to the throne would look past duty and lineage to not only help Sam as she tries to process all the changes in her life, but fall for her despite her perceived shortcomings. This book had it's moments of throwing an emotional gut punch, but it was done in such a way that the magic of Sam and Alex was still present. I'm so glad I saw that Facebook post, because this was one of those books that I wished could go on forever. Pure magic!
