Another wonderful book that I have read writen by Tracie Peterson! I absolutly loved it and read it all the way throug without stoping. I was totally captivated by the questions one of the characters continued to ask. I loved this book and it brought up my own faith and questions I had the joy of asking for Gods answer and finding my own conclusions. (with Gods help of course.) Loved It!!!!!!

In 1915 in Last Chance Creek of the Alaska Territory, Leah Barringer anxiously waits for the return of her beloved brother, Jacob, who left two months ago by dogsled to get needed supplies from Nome. While waiting for Jacob¿s expected arrival, Leah reflects back to when she lived with her guardians in Ketchikan and told her brother¿s friend Jayce Kincaid that she loved him, but he not so delicately reminded her she was not even of legal majority age and he saw her as Jacob¿s kid sister. Jacob returns accompanied by Jayce who has changed since his cold rebuff of Leah¿s opening of her heart to him. He has found the Lord and plans to make up what he did to Leah who he realized after he rejected her that he wanted her. Leah fears being burned again by him. --- The two male friends discuss an Arctic expedition which frightens Leah who loves both of them. Pinkerton¿s Helaina Beecham arrives from DC to bring Jayce to justice for killing two agents and robbing a bank. He insists he is innocent yet he hides the entire truth from his friends, the law and his beloved Leah. In spite of witnesses affirming his innocence, Leah wonders if his expedition is a farce to escape law enforcement from the Lower Forty-Eight. --- The first Alaskan Quest tale is a terrific historical thriller that provides an appreciative audience with a powerful look back to life in the Alaska Territory. Little things like the transportation to get there provide an incredible glimpse at the era. Mystery, romance and inspirational elements interweave within a vivid picturesque character driven early twentieth century tale that will have new readers seeking Tracie Peterson¿s back list like the Heirs of Montana series. --- Harriet Klausner

After plot after plot to capture the villan, the author just got tired and stopped writing. ????? Is this the beginning of a series? What a waste of time, especially when so much of the story was boring and repetive. It doesn't deserve the one star I had to give in order to make this comment. Don't waste your time reading this story.

Good book, drug at times. Spiritual content was a welcome addition The ending was a hook, have to buy another one for the ending or will possibly be another hook book. I'm not going to but another one.

As I stated at the beginning, I am a huge fan of Tracie Peterson. Her books are always good and entertaining. I've not read one that I haven't enjoyed. Summer of the Midnight Sun was no exception. The story is set in the beautiful and rugged Alaska. Tracie Peterson's description of the land and the ways of life of the people who lived it back then is phenomenal. She makes the setting come to life and become an integral part of the story. I could picture the land and the story taking place as I was reading, which I really enjoy! The characters were well-written, but I feel their development was shallow. Both Leah and Jacob are strong Christian characters already, so there wasn't much development for them. Leah does grow up throughout the story and you can see her mature to her thirty years. Jacob struggles with his faith a little when he meets Helaina, but overall he kept his feet on solid ground. Jayce's development could have been so much more! At the beginning of the story, we learn that he is a new Christian. I didn't feel like he learned or grew much throughout the story. The biggest development was in Helaina. Though she hasn't come to fully except anything, she is beginning to question herself and her beliefs. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversations between Jacob and Helaina. While some might view this story as a bit preachy, I didn't. We could all follow Jacob's example of witnessing to Helaina. Forgiveness and trust are also present messages in the story. Overall, this was a good read. I would recommend it to any Tracie Peterson fan!

Tracie Peterson's books as well as her writing are sensational. They truely teach me so much about love, marriage,& christantiy. They help to have a better walk with Christ , while living as a young adult. Peterson writes about true love, that real love that is known only with God as your friend every step of life. Since I am a christian young woman living in today's society who has a tremendes of amount to learn about life.I'm stll young, and I'm addmitting that I don't know everything. I figure this a good positive way to help myself. I know that a of her books are majority are fictional stories , but writing like that you have know that kind of love through God, and life experiences. This book, and every other book Tracie Peterson has wrote are so worth reading. Peterson's books as well as God have helped me get trough some really rough things in my life. Mrs. Tracie Peterson has inspired me so much. As a young woman,as a christian, & as a writer. Go read! Ba Bye, God Bless! P.s. Thanks!

Unless I know a book is a 2-parter when I start it, I won't buy the second one when I'm left hanging. I read it because I like Tracie's books but this one left me feeling cheated.

I'm a huge fan of tracie-- or used to be.... This book leaves me with more questions --- so many things were missing in this ... the character jayce was so shallow, but could have been written as if he was as deep as the sea.... not sure why the author chose to do that... Then after ten years of her waiting for a marriage .... then no details of her emotions or details on that day?? Slow SlowSlow.... then action and adventure at the end.... only to look up and notice three pages are left ????? Say what????
