Overview

Two years ago, she left a baby on her brother's front porch in Wisconsin. No one knew why, or where she went--until now.

Leaving her baby with a brother no one knew about is the only way Raelyn Scott could protect little Ella, her brother, and herself. Trust no one has been her motto to survive by--until her sexy diner customer, Josh, saves her from the man she fears most.

Private investigator Josh Burke finds himself falling for the guarded beauty before he can suss out the information he's been hired to expose. He's beginning to doubt the facts of the case, and lying to the first person to believe in his worth since leaving the military eats away at his rigid sense of honor. But if he tells Rae the truth about why he was in the diner that day, she'll disappear from his life forever.

Raelyn Scott has always been left behind by those she's loved. It led to her making poor choices, but she fought back and regained her life. She's a loyal and loving friend who's made herself a killer's target to protect an innocent child and her brother. How many of us would give up their life to do this? Josh Burke has a job to do. He has to find his client's great-granddaughter. I wish that he wouldn't have lied to Rae to make her confide in him. He did redeem himself when he saves her life. I know that he was in a tough position. He is really a good guy, but I wished there was a better way. Stacey Joy Netzel has written characters that I cared about. The way Rae took a stuffed animal which her brother gave her when she was running from a killer made me teary. This is an emotional story about redemption and second chances. I loved Summer Secrets. This book is a worthy addition to the Romancing Wisconsin series. I'm looking forward to the next book. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
