About the Author

Maddie Cochere is a proud grandmother who began her writing career four years ago. During her twenties, she worked for a weight loss company by day and played racquetball by night. She used her experiences from weight loss centers and playing racquetball as inspiration for Susan Hunter in her Susan Hunter Mysteries. The family of Jo Ravens in the Two Sisters and a Journalist series resembles Maddie's family in many ways. Her eighty-five-year-old mother still laughs when a whoopee cushion makes a loud appearance at family gatherings. Maddie resides in Ohio with her husband and a spoiled beagle.

The first in the Susan Hunter mysterries is a fun read. No course language, or intense sexual scenes, it has a diverse but not confusing cast. There is murder, and peril follows the heroine, but it has a lightness, and a easy tofollow story line. Glad it was free, but now I want to purchase the next four books in the series!

Loved it. Nice wholesome mix of fun, friends, advenutre, mystery, murder, food, sports, and shopping. It was nice reading something so "clean" and funny. Loved the pink shoe laces. I always had perfectly colored nail polish and lipstick when i played male dominated competetive sports! I'll likely read all of the series!

I tried to get through this book but gave up about half way through. The storyline is incredibly predictable, the charactors are under developed, and while reading one honestly does not care what happens to the main charactor. Additionally the author spends 70% of the time describing what the main charactor is wearing rather than telling her story. Even though this book was free I would not recommend it.

This first book in The Susan Hunter mysteries series is a quick and enjoyable read. Its breezy, well-written style keeps the reader eager to turn the page. The characters are well-developed such that instead of making Susan a one-dimensional blonde 27 year old, the author adds depth by creating a hard-working, racquetball playing, muscle-car driving woman. I was pleasantly surprised by this novel, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a light, fun read. Perfect for vacation reading!

I posted a review on 7/20/13 stating that I didn't know if I could finish this book. Well, I made myself finish the book and it did turn out be one of the most boring books I have ever read. The only interesting parts were of descriptions of clothing matching peep-toed shoes and other fashion details. The interesting part was that it reminded me of emily loring novels I read when I was 15 years old. Maybe there is an audience for this book after all.

Boring. Nothing happens except endless descriptions and shopping (where does this woman get her money?). Shouldn't be listex under mysteries.

Really enjoyed the Susan Hunter series. Have read all five now and hope there will be more. Each book is a fun read that is fast-paced and entertaining. Well written with likable characters.

Fun, good read but events are unlikely in places

Author drones on and on describing places and clothes to the point you just don't care and begin skimming pages.

Dull with shopping intermixed with a few lines if murde.r mystery. Not a very good read for any season. Won't get any more of this series.

Reviewed for Readers Favorite by Jean Brickell Maddie Cochere has written a fascinating book, "Sunshine Hunter". Susan has a job as a weight loss adviser and also works in the evenings at the gym. She loves racket ball and is quite good at it. She feels she is falling for her new boy friend Mick until she discovers that he is still married. Then come a trip to Florida where the harassment begins and then the attempts on her life and she has no idea why. She and friend Darby are in serious danger. She must find out why to stay alive. Susan has an extremely handsome new boyfriend, Mick, two great jobs that she loves, and things are looking quite good, until she answers the phone and the woman on the phone wants to speak to her husband, Mick. Susan is crestfallen. When good friend and next door neighbor ask if she would like to join him on a trip to Florida, she says yes to get away from thinking about Mick. Strange things start happening when they get to Florida and it looks as if their lives might be in danger. Susan has a suspicion but can't figure out why this person is trying to cause them so much grief. You can appreciate the fact that she decides to go shopping and buys new clothes and especially some nifty shoes to boost her morale. The plot thickens and things start happening fast. Enjoy this fantastic book though you may lose some sleep as you keep reading to find the answers.

Light-hearted, easy to read cozy. Interesting characters, except for maybe the protagonist's love interest - aside from him being handsome, he doesn't seem to have much going for him especially in the brains dept. However, it's an enjoyable read, and at times laugh-out-loud funny.

Susan Hunter just found out that the man of her dreams is married and has a 12 year old son. Mitch is seperated from his wife, Jenny, because of her lover. But why is Jenny's lover is out to get Susan and take her out of the picture. A very nice and enjoyable cozy.
