Overview

A sexy, small town, second chance romantic comedy!

Thanks to a drawn-up-while-drinking-moonshine partnership agreement, Madison Allain has to spend thirty days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business.

And if the heat and humidity and freaking alligators of Louisiana aren't enough to agitate the cool and in-control California girl, then Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who stole her heart twelve years ago, will sure do the trick.

Owen just has to remember three simple-ish rules: Do not fight with her. Do not fight over her. Do not kiss her. He can do this. He's charming and friendly for a living after all. But this is Maddie. The only woman to ever shake up this laid-back bayou boy.

Besides, she's not staying. No way. These people and this town make her crazy. She doesn't want to be crazy. She definitely does not want to own a swamp boat tour company. She just wants to paint. In her quiet, beautiful, alligators-not-allowed, air-conditioned art studio.

As for that hot bayou boy? Well, he's...amazing. But he belongs here in the South. And she definitely doesn't. Even if her heart stays behind when she leaves.

This is the second book on the series and can easily be read as a stand alone, although since there is only one book before this one I would suggest you pick up book one as well. Madison Allain is a part owner and thanks to conditions she has to spend thirty days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business.  What she doesn’t count on is the feelings she still has for Owen Landry. Madison is the only woman who drives Owen absolutely crazy. She is down on the bayou under sufferance and the last thing she wants is to be there. All she wants is to return to her art and California. I love the crazy, whacky Landry family and Erin Nicholas brings Autre, Louisiana to life for me. I would love to be a part of their family. This is a second chance at love story. The chemistry between Owen and Maddie is intense, the only real question is can they ignore their feelings or will they give in to the passion? Sweet Home Louisiana is a story with a great deal of snort worthy, laugh out loud moments which captivated me from the first to the last chapter. There was absolutely nothing that I would change and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Author Erin Nicholas has me wanting to pack my bags and heading from Texas down to Louisiana,. Not to hit the Casinos or Bourbon Street like so many of my friends or family, but to look up the real life Boys of the Bayou. I know they have to be there where just like Owen, hidden down there waiting for us to come look for them. Oh my stars and gators ,I knew from past books that by the time we got to Owen's book it had the potential to knock me out of my seat into the swamp and it did that and more. If you have read any of the other books you will know all about these guys and gals who work and run the tour & hunting company called Boys of the Bayou. In this book we learn a bit more about what happens to Tommy and why Maddie is back in Autre... and why she left in the first place. Sweet Home Louisiana had me laughing in parts and wanting to cry in others. It had me digging deep looking for answers about different characters in this amazing and yes crazy cast of a family. This is of those books that when I finished it I was so ready for the next book in this series because yes it is that oh so good!

Oh. My. Heart. These Louisiana boys are H.O.T. Head on down to the south where family means EVERYTHING and you'll have a bit of an understanding of the Landry family. Their life might not be to everyone's liking, but their heart is in the right place. Family includes those who might not share the same DNA, but are family in everything but. Fighting, disagreeing, with each other...but heaven help the outsider who tries to divide their loyalties. Thus, the drunken business agreement between the Patriarchs of the Landry and Allain families, making certain stipulations required before anyone can sell out. Maddison Allain is returning to the bayou from California, to do her duty and stay for 30 days so she can sell her portion of the business...to someone other than the Landry brothers!?! What? That can't happen, and Owen, the man she loved long ago has to try to talk her out of the sale! Boy howdy...are Maddison and Owen going to be able to work together for 30 days? Sparks fly every time they're close to each other. Will the Landry boys be able to 'save' the business and keep it in the family? So many questions! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Let me start off saying that this is a fabulous feel-good, sexy, funny, good-time story about family and love. This is book 3 in the Boys of the Bayou series and it features Owen and Maddie. I laughed OUT LOUD at some of the shenanigans this group of family and friends gets up to. Owen and Maddie are meant to be. It’s that simple. Chemistry is not the problem...geography is. I highly recommend this book full of hilariously entertaining characters and a story line that flows like smooth whiskey. There are a couple new characters that are going to fit right in too. Bennett is AWESOME and Juliet had me cracking up! I can’t wait for the next book!

Heartfelt, sexy and down right fun! With the next book in the Boys of the Bayou series, Owen takes center stage as he reunites with Tommy's sister, his first and only love. She wants to get in and out of town quickly without having to be reminded of the good times from the past ... he wants to convince her to come home and live the life she was always destined to have. It doesn't take anytime for old emotions to flair between them and temptation soon becomes too much to resist ... but there are things about California that she can't find in the bayou. Will he be able to let her walk away again? Great characters, a fun-filled emotional plot and so much more to look forward to in the next book! Madison Allain would do just about anything not to have to step foot in Autre, Louisiana again. She left that part of herself behind a dozen years ago and she's happy with her life in California now. She doesn't want to get drug back into the loud, crazy life of the bayou, but if she wants to sell her part of the business she just inherited, she has to spend a month there first ... side by side with her first love! Owen Landry never moved on from Maddie in any real sense. Yes, he's a fun loving guy who loves time with the ladies, but he's never had a relationship that meant anything to him since his spontaneous plans with her fell apart when they were teenagers. He knows it's going to be hard being around her for these few weeks, but he needs to convince her not to sell a piece of their life's work to a stranger.

Back to the bayou with Madison and Owen, a hot, sexy bayou boy. He brings out things in Maddie that she rather not have going on for the duration of the foolish 30-day contact she signed. Owen wants to behave, some-what. He wants to do what right, some-what. He wants Maddie. He has wanted Maddie. She's the one that could do all the things to him that he should not want her to do, but do. Erin Nicolas gives another fantastic rope in the bayou with Owen and Maddie as the staring character, but the rest of the cast of characters will lure you in just as much. This small town romance gives you much to be attracted to and have you turning each page to see what happens next.

Oh my!! Owen and Maddie’s second chance love story in Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas, book two in her Boys of the Bayou series, was amazing. It grabbed me and didn’t let go from the moment I read page one. Twelve years ago Madison, “Maddy”, Allain left Louisiana to live with her maternal grandparents in San Francisco and where she worked at an art gallery and painted memories of life on the bayou. After the death of her older brother and a partnership agreement drawn up by her grandfather and Leo Landry she has to spend thirty days on the bayou before she can sell her portion of the family business. That’s thirty days!! One month!! In the heat, humidity, bayou, crazy family, and terrifying alligators!! Then there was sharing space with the hot boy who stole her heart before leaving to become a cool and in-control California girl. Owen is handsome, often shirtless, and a favorite of the tourists who take their bayou boat tour; which he is one of the owners. Owen tries his best to remember and keep the three simple promises he made to his cousins, Josh and Sawyer: Do not fight with her. Do not fight ‘over’ her. Do ‘not’ kiss her. He knows he can do this; after all he’s charming and does friendly for a living. But this is Maddie! She’s the only woman he’s ever loved as well as shake up his laid-back world and protective instinct. I loved these two. Maddie came in, knowing she wasn’t staying and made no bones about pretending otherwise. She likes control in her life and this town and the people make her crazy. Not feel crazy, but act crazy. She does not want to own part of a swamp boat tour company as she wants to paint in a quiet, air-conditioned art studio. Yet, her heart never forgot her hot bayou boy. Owen is willing to give up everything to be with Maddie, even though he belongs in the bayou and heat and humidity and taming the alligators, without telling her he’s done that. Maddie isn’t sure if she can leave Owen without leaving her heart there. She knows the bayou is where he belongs. Maddie and Owen forget about talking and communicating their thoughts before acting. That can keep these two crazy people from having that second chance at a forever love. Ms. Nicholas wrote a wonderful, humorous, challenging, and sexy story that is not to be missed. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. This book contains a cast of characters one would only find in an Erin Nicholas story. I am so glad Maddie and Owen had their second chance at love and a forever together. I highly recommend Sweet Home Louisiana to other reader and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Maddie and Owen are amazing together. They fell in love as teenagers and then crazy things happened in Maddie’s family which drove her away from Autre. Now she is back so she can sell her share of Boys of the Bayou but being back puts her right back in Owen’s orbit. Will she be able to steel her heart against him? Or will his charm capture her yet again? Owen is excited and dreading Maddie’s return. He never stopped loving her but when she left, she hurt him. He wants to show her that Autre is her home but when he finds out what California gives her, will he let her go again? The Landry family is so much fun to read, what a great cast of characters that love fiercely and are devoted to caring for their own, no matter what the cost.

Sweet Home Louisianna by Erin Nicholas is the second book in her Boys of the Bayou series. Once again we are whisked away to Autre, Louisianna, the bayou where Boys of the Bayou Tour Company runs swamp tours. Maddie Allain has inherited a majority share of the business following the death of her brother, Tommy. She has been happily living in California for the past twelve years and wants to sell her share of the business and return home to California. In order to accomplish this goal she has to spend four weeks in Autre working with her partners. Owen Landry is anxiously awaiting Maddie's return. He was madly in love with her when she left Autre. Their reunion brings bright sparks and heated attraction. I really liked how Erin Nicholas brought these two together. Owen had lots of support from family and friends in the bayou neighborhood but he outdid himself with unselfish love to win her love. This is one hot read that's sure to make the reader "happily nuts."

Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas is the second book in her Boys of the Bayou series. Easy to read, told in dual POV, with everyday normal relatable characters and a wonderful setting in Autre, Louisiana and the Boys of the Bayou tour company. Coming from an airboating household in Central Florida I completely appreciated the descriptive scenery and the airboat and alligator references. I found it accurate and it made me want to get my guy to fire the boat up and go for a ride. The emotion runs high between the two main characters, Madison and Owen, and the chemistry does too. Add in a crazy cajun family and this made for a funny, romantic, sexy tale. It was absolutely awesome. It also had wonderful secondary characters that will get you completely invested in the series. This is my first time reading this author but it will NOT be the last. ENJOY!!!

Sweet Home Louisiana makes me want to move to the south (if only it wasn't so bloody hot and didn't had Thor-sized bugs). Erin Nicholas perfectly embodies the characters in her writing and you can't help but feel completely immersed in the story, and it's always over too soon for my liking. Absolutely loved it!

SWEET HOME LOUISIANA is the second instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU romance series focusing on the Landry family. This is twenty -nine year old tour boat operator Owen Landry, and twenty-eight year old artist/gallery owner Madison Allain. SWEETHOME LOUISIANA can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives ( Owen and Madison) SWEET HOME LOUISIANA focuses on the second chance relationship between twenty-nine year old tour boat operator Owen Landry, and twenty-eight year old artist/gallery owner Madison Alain. Twelve years earlier Madison left the Bayou and her life behind, and heading to California to become something and someone else. Fast forward to present day wherein Madison must return to Autre, Louisiana to sell her late brother Tommy’s shares in the Boys of the Bayou swamp boat tour company, shares Madison inherited upon her brother’s death. But returning to Autre meant facing the family and the man she left behind, a man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. Enter Owen Landry. What ensues is the rekindling romance and relationship between Owen and Madison, and the potential fall-out as Madison’s time in Autre comes to an end. According to the terms of the Boys of the Bayou contract, Madison must remain in Autre for thirty days, thirty days that keeps her in close contact with the Landry family. Hoping to convince Madison not to sell her shares, Owen and his brothers convince Madison to work for the company in an effort to rekindle the memories of a time long ago. The relationship between Owen and Madison is one of second chances: a rebuilding friendship and relationship hurt but the craziness Madison believes affects her own form of crazy. Owen has never stopped loving our story line heroine and if Madison wants to sell her shares, Owen sets about making plans of his own. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. We are reintroduced to the Landry family, friends and business partners: Josh and Tori (My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding #1) sister Kennedy and long-suffering brother Sawyer: grandpa Leo, grandma Ellie, cousin Mitch; Aunt Cora, billionaire Bennett Baxter, and attorney Juliet Dawson and her brother Chase. Sawyer and Juliet’s story is next in BEAUTY AND THE BAYOU. SWEET HOME LOUISIANA like My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is a story of family and friendships; of second chances and falling in love; of struggle, grief, guilt and moving forward. The premise is entertaining, engaging and energetic; the romance is captivating and seductive; the characters are dynamic, charismatic and caring. My only issue is the conflict resolution -which is almost identical to the first instalment.

Yowzers! I love this new series by Erin Nicholas. I thought I loved Josh and Tori in book 1, but Maddie and Owen have taken over as my new favorite couple in the Bayou! Owen and Maddie give a new definition to the hot, steamy, south in this second chance romance. I don’t want to say too much but the first time they reconnect in the office of their touring company is HOTTTTTT!! I had to reread it, it was so good. I love how these two are protective of one another and will do anything to show their love for each other. I have fallen in love with the Boys of the Bayou and I can’t wait to read the third story about Owen’s cousin, Sawyer! I hope it is released soon!!

Better than the last... each book in this series seems to get better. Erin certainly knows how to reach out and touch emotions and drag you straight into the Bayou with the characters she's writing. Owen and Maddie are no exception! When her brothers unexpected death leaves her owning a part of the Boys in Bayou business, she finds herself returning home to the one place she never wanted to be again. Due to a clause in the contract, she finds herself having to return home, for 30 days in order to be able to sell her portion of the business her brother left her. Home to Owen, the one person who brings out the 'crazy' in her, the person who makes her do things she doesn't feel a normal person would do. Her past caused her to leave, to try and prevent something awful happening to the once man she loves and has tried to forget but once she's back home with her family, she can't help falling back into the person she used to be. Can she resist Owen for the 30 days it takes to fulfill her end of the agreement before she can sell or will that heart of gold, loyal Cajun bayou boy win her heart back again and will it be enough for her to stay this time? You'll fall in love with Owen and Maddie and won't be able to put this one down until it's over and then want more! Again another hit for Erin and the Boys of the Bayou and in the wonderful New Orleans series.

I read a lot of books, over 300 each year. Some books are just a great way to pass the time. Others are funny or they're stories that you can relate to. And I love all of those sorts of books just for those reasons. But there are a handful of authors who write books that can really hit all of your feels. They make you feel like you are right there, in the story, and that the characters are people that you know personally. One of those authors is Erin Nicholas. I anxiously await each new book she writes. Her latest book in the Boy's of the Bayou series, Sweet Home Louisiana, is one of those books. Owen is one of the part owners of the Boy's of the Bayou swamp tour company in Autre. The company was started years ago by two friends, who have since passed it down to the younger members of the family. Maddie's grandfather was one of the original owners. Owen has had feelings for Maddie since they were young teens. He has missed her since she moved to California. But now she's back to sell her portion of the company that her brother Tommy left her when he died. Owning it is too painful of a reminder of her brother and the rest of her family. The terms of ownership require her to offer her shares first to the others. But she has to spend 30 days at the company before she can sell her shares. But will Maddie be able to handle all the memories in Autre and can Owen contain his feelings for Maddie? The story is sweet and steamy and filled with a cast of other characters who have big personalities that add to the story. I just loved this book and I was sorry to get to the end but I think that the next story might be even better. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Can you ever go home again? More important, what if you're not sure you want to? Sweet Home Louisiana is the second in Erin Nicholas's incredible Boys of the Bayou series. Owen Landry is one of the current owners/partners of Boys of the Bayou, a swamp boat tour company owned jointly with his cousins Sawyer and Josh, and Sawyer's late best friend Tommy. Tommy Allain left his shares to Madison, his baby sister. Maddie and Owen were friends growing up, and the year she turned sixteen, that friendship took a turn to become the hottest thing since sliced bread. Or shrimp and gator gumbo. However Maddie moved away not long after that, and Maddie's since restyled herself as a cultured California artist and gallery owner. The memories of that teenage romance are bittersweet, taking her back to a time when family and the wild, deep passions that love inspires are everything. She can't envision returning to that loss of self control, and yet, bound by the terms of the ownership agreement, she has no choice but to spend the next month working for Boys of the Bayou in order to sell. Owen was hoping he'd be long over Maddie--he hasn't laid eyes on her in years, but apparently his heart has other ideas. And the Landry family welcomes Maddie back enthusiastically, like a long-lost daughter. The welcome both warms her, and truly terrifies her, filling her with the need to run and to protect herself. Erin Nicholas has penned another masterpiece in Sweet Home Louisiana. It's filled with heat and heart. Owen and Maddie share a deep chemistry which the years apart have not muted in the least. And we (and Maddie) are reminded that while passion can inspire what seem like crazy actions, that depth of emotion is ultimately our greatest strength, giving us the will and means to make a life meaningful and satisfying. And yes, home is where the heart is. Sweet Home Louisiana is Erin Nicholas at her finest. Characters who are warm and funny and sincere and quirky and oh-so-real. Chemistry that leaps off the page and pulls us in and curls up in our hearts and burrows down to stay. Heartfelt conversations. Vulnerability. Taking the time to listen to those you love. Willingness to do the right thing. Incredible storytelling. Humor. This book has it all. It's the ultimate feel-good read--one to savor the first time through, and with every re-read. If I could, I'd happily move to this little corner of the bayou--the Landrys and Boys of the Bayou define home and family in this universe where they speak their minds and you know they've got your back. Sweet Home Louisiana is another keeper, and Beauty and the Bayou can't come soon enough!

There's no place like home. Sweet Home Louisiana is the second in the ‘Boys of the Bayou’ series by Erin Nicholas. We met Owen in the first book (My Best Friends Mardi Gras Wedding) and he was pretty swoony there. But, here in his own story he’s just… wow!! A truly sweet and sexy southern gentleman, and hot as sin to boot. He’s the man that will bring Maddie back to her roots. Maddie just wants to do her 30 days and get the heck out of Dodge, but Owen isn’t about to let that happen. Not on his watch, he’ll do whatever it takes to strip the California out of the girl and put the Bayou back where it belongs. Fun, crazy mixed up love and a strong family connection makes this a great read.

Erin Nicholas does it again with another book in the Boys of the Bayou series. 12 years ago Owen and Maddie had a hot and heavy month long romance when they were 16 and 17 years old. But they made each other crazy and Maddie eventually left Louisiana to live in California. After her brother dies she is left with a share in the business that Owen is a part of. She must come home to take care of things and meet Owen face to face. Will the love of 2 teenagers have disappeared over time or will the flame reignite now that they are both adults. As if the Bayou wasn't hot and steamy enough, add these 2 together and they will set it on fire.

I didn’t think it was possible to love any book series more than I loved the Sapphire Falls series. TJ and Hope were the ultimate couple and I think I actually lived there in another life. This Boys of the Bayou series may seriously compete. The Landry clan has been nothing but entertaining and heartwarming and all about big love!! This is the story of Maddie and Owen. While there is some sadness as to the background of their love story, the humorous adventures (setting fires, taking apart vehicles…) and the steamy present storyline more than makes up for it. Maddie has to endure 30 days, just 30 days, in the Bayou to be out forever….but Owen has other plans for her. Can he convince her where she belongs? And who gets blown up or incapacitated while he does it? Love this story and so appreciate the way second chance lovers always endure….

Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nichols is second in the Boys of the Bayou series recently launched. Love those Louisiana boys! Ever since I discovered this series and the one before it, Boys of the Big Easy, I have been enchanted, begging or more. Owen Landry is a big, goofy, kid-like man who runs an airboat in the bayou for his and his family's business, Boys of the Bayou. They do bayou tours and fishing tours and such. He and his brothers are a big draw for female-filled tours like bachelorette parties and such; also for tours full of men; for a slightly different reason, and also for family tours; for yet another reason. They are all hot, smart, and fun. Now Josh is taken, limiting come of his activities; Sawyer is drowning in depression since his best friend and partner, Tommy was killed in a bayou accident; and Owen is totally distracted by the arrival of the fourth partner, Madison, Tommy's sister. She has come to sell her share. Nichols brings these characters to life. It is like you are there in Autre with them, eating and drinking at Ellie's, working on the dock or in the office, a member of the family. And characters they are: Ellie, 70 years old with a 50 year old New Orleans lawyer for a boyfriend; Leo, Ellie's ex-husband and best friend; Kennedy, the beauty queen turned goth girl who runs the office and handle reservations. All one big happy family; a family the reader becomes engrossed in immediately. It is a romance; the ending pre-ordained; but what a good time getting to the end. It is a wonderful...and hot...read. I totally recommend it...and soon.

Erin never disappoints in her writing...wow Hot crazy combustible chemistry coming your way with Owen and Maddie but can they make it work after 12 years..and can Maddie actually come back home or is California trully her home. Owen is an alpha male that will do anything for his family does that include letting Maddie go forever... Boys of the Bayou is a great home town series like Saphire Falls Erin makes you fall in love with Aultre and you never want to leave.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Crazy Fun. The Boy’s of the Bayou just keep it rolling from book to book. The author has given us another RomCom that is not only hilarious but very heartfelt and so very much a cajun style romance. In case you don’t know it, cajun people are 100 percent family. Everyone knows everyone’s business and everyone has a opinion on everything. But when push comes to shove, no one sticks together more for each other than cajun bayou folks. (FYI, I know this as I lived much of my adult life in Louisiana). The author has done an Outstanding job of portraying cajun life on the bayou - the fun, the work and the family life style. Madison has returned to the Bayou to fulfill the 30 days require in order to sell her portion of the family business. Madison have been living in California and has no desire to return to life on the Bayou, which is exactly what the boys who own the other shares of the business are trying to get her to do. The family is hoping after 30 days she’ll return to her roots and not sell. But Madison has other plans. She has to sell because 1) she loves her life in California where she gets to paint and work in a plush art gallery and 2) because she can’t live near her old flame Owen. Why? Because he drives her crazy and every time they are together things seem to go wrong and crazy stuff happens. As for Owen he wants her to stay but he knows her happiness is in California and no longer on the Bayou and he’ll do anything to make her happy, even if it means she sells to an outsider. This is a very funny book that will have you laughing at the family’s antics and hoping for a happy ending for Owen and Madison. I Highly Recommend the Boys of the Bayou series. While they can be read as standalones, the characters in the books crossover and it’s much more entertaining if you read them in order. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a great book 2 and this reader is anxiously waiting for book 3.
