One of my new favorite books in the series. For anyone who has read the others this one definitely pushes the accession forward in a big way. Can't wait for the next book!

I can not get enough of this whole series. I find myself anxiously awaiting each new book and dread the day the series ends. Sweet Ruin, like all the others, was hard to put down and did not disappoint!

I loved Rune and Jo, this has moved them almost to the top (still holding out for Nix...and maybe the Undoing?), but this book answered A LOT of questions, but created so many more! Cannot wait until the next book.

I loved this book. I love all the books in this series and Sweet Ruin has moved to the top of the list. In my opinion everyone should buy it. The only bad thing is that I finished it and now have to wait for the next book in the series to come out.

Excellent! Everything I've come to expect and love from Kresley Cole-complex characters, intriguging adventure, whitty dialogue, and snarky humor- Loved this story!

A feisty heroine and a shameless hero captivates the reader from chapter one. Kresley Cole has outdone herself once again. Going back for a second read to see what clues I may have missed. Love the glimpses of old friends and how the morior seem to be aware of all that has been going on in Gaia

This is my all time favorite series. It's amazing that 16 books in they are getting better! These new characters really started to pull everything together. Jo and Rune are an exciting couple, for me they are only passed by Bowen and Mariketa! Can't wait for the next!

In this sixteenth book of the Immortals After Dark series, Kresley Cole tells a story that has some good parts with potential; however, there are some major caveats. I have seen a fair amount of criticism about the hero, Rune, who was an abused child turned assassin then sex slave and, finally, to Archer for the Moirer so his seven thousand years have not been champagne and roses. He spends much time “swiving” Nymphs and assorted other Loreans to gain information. Josephine, who is a mere twenty-five years old, has also lived a rough life from the time of her first memories which began at age eight. She seems to be a vampire with some unusual talents. She and Rune come together against a common enemy who happens to be Nix. And Nix always has some strange things up her Valkyrie sleeve. Nix’s behavior in this book was more mean than fun as she has been previously. Josephine has always yearned for someone to love for her own especially since she had to give up her brother, Thaddeus, her only family to be raised by someone else. Although a Lorean, she is very much alone and has not been raised in the ways of the Lore. Rune believes himself incapable and undeserving of love only seeing his body as a weapon to be used for his faction. While he and Josephine spend much time together, neither one seems to understand the other or really listen each other’s needs and wants. A really major problem with this story is that as paranormal romance, the romance end has fallen far short. Most of us do not want to read a story where the hero spends much of his time and thought on other women for mindless sex. While I can feel sympathy for what Rune endured as a child, others in the series have also suffered greatly without turning to mindless promiscuity to survive and then thrive. There are always choices to be made when sacrificing one’s soul. The most interesting parts of the story involve information about the major battle heating up between immortals to see who wins the Ascension.

I have been a fan of Kresley Cole's for quite some time and she continues with Sweet Ruin to keep me a dedicated fan. New characters to look forward to are introduced and old favorites like Nix and Desh come into play. The dynamic duo, Jo and Rune, were an exciting couple to follow and I'm looking forward to how their future will pan out. Thank you, Kresley, for being one of the most captivating authors.

Okay this was steamy!! I kind db of expected this story to be mild based in the cover , but i wad totally (and happily ) surprised!! These characters are amaxing, as always with Miss Kresley, and i couldn't put it down. Plus we introduce more new lore characters . ..which is great because that means more IAD books in the future!!!! Yes please

Having read and enjoyed all the Immortals After Dark books, including the installments after Sweet Ruin, that while this was an okay read it was far from my favorite. Everything after Dark Skye does not feel like IAD and its disappointing. Gone are the previously established characters and instead an unfamiliar and less appealing twist to the Lore world and yet the basic plot feels recycled. I really wish Ms. Cole would return to the Lykae, Valkyries, witches, vampires, etc.

Oh my goodness, this one was so good. It was so hard to put it down. I loved the characters; Rune was such a strong male lead with such a dynamic personality and history, and Jo had so much spunk, attitude, and fire on the page. The plot was very strong and carried the reader through it all from beginning to end. The conflict wasn't some malevolent bad guy but rather how Rune's past colored his present and Jo's desire for companionship even in the face of a man who, on more than one occasion, told her he wouldn't be faithful. Her drive to protect her brother and then reunite with him also added a depth to her character that pulled the reader in. I loved how strong her personality was on the page and when the inevitable happened and she left Rune it was so heart wrenching. I really did worry that Rune wasn't going to see the error of his ways before it was way too late to salvage his relationship with his mate. There isn't anything I didn't like about this story. Loved it!

I wasn't sure about this one in the beginning. I was a tad put off by how unwilling he was and how willing she was such a flip flop from other books wjere the female is rejecting the male. Bit u know what I totally dig it this is one of the top five best books for me keep them coming please.
