If you've been following my blog the last couple months, you'll surely know that I've fallen in love with Candis Terry's Sweet, Texas series. Well, I recently binge-read the last three full-length books (and a novella!) in one weekend. I'm not even somewhat sorry about it.  I was so excited when I opened this book and learned it was time for Fiona's story. I've liked her since she first appeared in the series. I respect the way she's remained friends with her ex husband, Jackson. She's a great mom to an absolutely beautiful little girl and she's a good person. I love how she's remained part of the Wilder clan, too. I've thought she absolutely deserved her very own happily ever after since reading Jackson's in Sweet, Mistake. I'm glad Candis felt the same way. ;) Firefighter Mike was a wonderful match for Fiona. Sure, it took them some time to get there because Jackson is his best friend and he's unwilling to cross any lines. The bro code is important to him. As it should be. Mike was married before, too, but his relationship didn't end as amicably as Fiona and Jackson's. He's not into serious relationships and he didn't think he was worthy of Fiona. I definitely disagree. I loved watching them become friends and then build something real together.  Sweet Surprise is not a fast-paced romance. It doesn't jump right into the sexy scenes. (Though it might've if Mike had his way about things.) Mike's a good guy, but he is, after all, a guy. There's an undeniable chemistry between them and since he's not looking for anything long-term, the temptation to be friends with benefits is definitely there. Fiona's focus is on NOT being Naughty Fiona and putting her daughter ahead of her desire. Because of this, there's a slow burn and a natural progression to things between Fiona and Mike. Once the kissing starts, it's swoony and sexy and everything I want in a contemporary romance book.  After three books featuring the love lives of the Wilder brothers, I was a little concerned it would be strange to switch things up and throw in two other characters. It wasn't. Not even a little bit. Of course, I desperately wanted Jake's book, but it was well worth delaying it for Fiona to find love. Especially because I fell a little in love with Mike over the course of this book as well. I loved his scenes with Fiona – and he absolutely melted my heart during his interactions with Izzy. It gave me all the warm fuzzy feels.

This book was fantastic, and it now has me questioning whether or not Jesse Wilder is still my favorite Sweet, Texas leading man. I finished the book last weekend...and Mike has been lingering with me all week!! I loved Mike & Fiona's story...it had just the right amounts of everything: it was spicy, sweet, funny, and heartwarming! I do believe every girl needs a guy like Mike to come and rescue them!

Instant attraction when Mike (handsome firefighter) spots Fiona at a charity auction where his services are being offered for sale... Big problem though ~ Fiona is the ex-wife of Mike's buest friend Jackson... And everybody knows you don't cross the line by dating your best friends ex-wife or ex-girlfriend... What transpires in the next 230 pages will make you wonder who ever decided on a rule like that... Good humor, fun and some real life reality fill the pages with a lot of excellent reading... Finished this one in two sittings... Really enjoyed the story and the trip to HEA...

I loved this book right from the beginning. Fiona needed to have her happily ever in Sweet Texas, too. I fell in love with her from Jackson's story. Fiona, single mom, cupcake extraordinaire, and independent, has made some bad decisions in the past and now has her life going in the right direction when she meets hottie, firefighter Mike. Mike has come from a rough past, not looking for a forever relationship especially with his best friend's ex wife. Mike won me over in many ways, especially when he buys Izzy a puppy. This is must read from Candis Terry. The fourth book in Sweet Texas, a small community, where you will fall in love with everyone. This book can be read as a stand alone. I am still drooling over Mike and the cupcakes.

4.3 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sweet romance and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading them first Anything but Sweet (Sweet, Texas, #1) Sweetest Mistake (Sweet, Texas, #2) Something Sweeter (Sweet, Texas, #3) Sweet Cowboy Christmas (Sweet, Texas, #3.5) This is Fiona and Mike’s story. Fiona is the ex-wife of Mike’s best friend. Mike finds her attractive but does not want to break the guy code. How would his best friend feel about him dating his ex? Fiona has moved to the town of sweet to open a cupcake place. With Mike’s help she gets everything done. But can she want a relationship with Mike? Does she deserve Mike? What kind of relationship would Mike want? Can Mike and Fiona fight the chemistry between them? With the match making going on do they even stand a chance? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Sweet Surprise, Sweet, Texas, Sweet and utterly charming contemporary romance! Fiona doesn’t want any romantic connections in her life. She is recently but very amicably divorced. Focusing on her new cupcake business and her daughter is all she wants to worry about, so why does a certain fireman keep popping into her head. Mike is Fiona’s ex-husband’s best friend and fellow fireman and he can’t seem to get Fiona off his mind. Guy code requires him to stay clear of Fiona but something keeps pulling him in. Sweet Surprise is a lively story of reluctant romance. Both Mike and Fiona have reasons to fight their sizzling romantic chemistry; the joy is watching them fail miserably in their fight. I had one personal issue with this story. It was the explanation of Fiona’s failed marriage. I don’t buy into they love each other but they aren’t “in love”, it’s a total cop out excuse. Do I believe exs can remain friends, absolutely especially when a child is involved but seriously it had to be more than fell out of or was never “in love”. What did I enjoy about Sweet Surprise? I really relished the love story. It was a perfect cozy read, by a warm fire. Heartwarming and Heartfelt! I especially loved the connection Mike builds with Fiona’s daughter as well as the past series characters coming back to play. I recommend curling up with a nice cup of hot tea and taking a trip to Sweet, Texas!

A delightful Sweet Texas read with some truly endearing moments. Jackson Wilder’s ex, Fiona Wilder is moving to Sweet, Texas to open a cupcake shop and also so her darling little girl, Izzy, can be closer to her father and his soon-to-bride, Abby. On the way, she is the unfortunate victim of two drivers’ road rage. Now she’s trying to get moved in, get the shop set up, and settled into her new life while recovering from her injuries. When her knight in shining armor from the accident shows up to help, she fights the offer. Not because she doesn’t want or need the help but because she is far too attracted to the man who also happens to be a firefighter, a very sexy, very hot firefighter. After her failed marriage to Jackson, she promised herself she’d never get involved with another hot man like that again - it was part of her wild Fiona life she'd left behind. Then again, aren’t promises made to be broken? Mike Halsey hasn’t stopped thinking about the gorgeous Fiona Wilder, off limits ex-wife of his firefighter buddy, Jackson. With a bad marriage as baggage, he has his reasons for keeping his distance from the beautiful single mom. But when the ever matchmaking Jana Wilder collects on her auction purchase, and asks him to work it off by helping the sexy Fiona with her move, and her cupcake shop, he can’t refuse even though he knows he's playing with fire. Sweetness comes in all forms and Fiona is a sweet treat he desperately wants to taste and make his own but there’s a code between men who live on the edge, and since he’s been there with Jackson, he needs to keep his distance even though he doesn’t want to. As usual, Candis Terry creates characters that most certainly make us care. Mike is sexy, caring, and most definitely, a knight in shining armor. Fiona is a good loving mom and has goals to be a successful woman in business. There were times when I felt I’d read this story before because the plot is rather typical. Then Candis does things like throws in a sweet ‘Milo’ moment where Mike gets to show how big his heart is, or like when Fiona gives him the space he needs to get his emotional stuff together. Fiona gets a big star for patience and it pays off big time in the end for her, and for Izzy. Truly Sweet ending to this one. Perhaps SWEET SURPRISE didn’t tug at my heartstrings the way ANYTHING BUT SWEET did, or make me want to smack anyone upside the head the way Jackson did in SWEETEST MISTAKE, but this one was still a good solid Candis Terry read. Although, I did find it a bit of a stretch that the relationship between Fiona and Abby could be quite so intimately friendly. Of course, it lends itself to the fantasy of romance being perfection. I most certainly recommend reading SWEET SURPRISE, book four in the Sweet, Texas series by Candis Terry. If you haven’t tried this series, or if you already love the rest of the series as much as I do, you don’t want to miss yet another of Jana Wilder’s crazy matchmaking meddles. Besides, who can possibly resist such a big-hearted sexy fireman as Mike Halsey. Also, you don’t want to miss the Milo moment or the sweetest of sweet marriage proposals. ***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

I have really been into the Sweet Series with the Wilder boys, but this is finally the book I have been waiting for! So this is a story about Fiona. So if you don’t remember Fiona, she is Jackson ex-wife and the mother to Izzy. You would think she would be bitter, but NO! Jackson, Abby (his fiancée) and Fiona are great friends, which is a marvelous change and as a reader it’s wonderful not to have a snarky and hateful ex-wife in the background. Anyway, back to the story. Fiona is has moved to Sweet to open a cupcake store and so Izzy could be near her father. But Fiona has also made resolutions for herself, they are to make her cupcake store a success and to put naughty Fiona away and find a man that truly loves HER and not just loves her like a friend. But before Fiona even manages to get her cupcake store open, Fiona is caught in a nasty car crash, but luckily Mr. Tall, Dark and Delicious aka Mike Halsey (firefighter and best friend of her ex) comes to the rescue. Mike is drawn to Fiona like a bee to a flower, but boy! Does the man have some serious baggage! He also is living by the man code; Thou must not covert thy friends Wife/Girl/Ex/Sister, but that doesn’t stop the desire, every time they are in the same room. After a shaky start, things go smoothly for these love birds, until the past rears its ugly head and family responsibilities threaten to destroy all they have. Wow, what a book! I cannot even describe too you how sweet and divine this book is! It is honestly my dream sweet romance should be. The writing is flawless, plot hole free and so, so smooth it just flows of the page. So after all that gushing I am delighted to give Sweet Surprise 10 out of 10.

Mike & Fiona have sizzling, bursting chemistry since the first moment at the charity auction when there sights collide, but past mistakes, broken dreams and hopes, make these two persons very cautious and guarded, stopping in their tracks from living good life. " Somehow,by the grace of God,she’d managed to survive. Now it was time to get serious. And serious did not include hooking up with another fireman. No matter how sizziling he might be.” "…He locked up his heart along with his hopes and dreams of the whole loving-family-white-picket-fence scenario." Eh, stubborn people, when they do not take anything to get closer to each other, then there is Jana Wilder to meddle a little bit,if meddiling means seeing the people she love find happiness… "And let the trouble begins." It was pure pleasure to read this book, like the previous books,Candis Terry delivers one beautiful, emotional, sweet story! A little bit different, but in positive way,Mike & Fiona’s story has much more layers, and has slower, subtle flow of the story, getting to know each other,it is the beginning to a lovely, deep relationship. Fiona is brave, persistent, honest person, worthy of respect mother, and Mike,eh,is great person, selflessness, generous heart, loyal, dreamy eyes, sexy smile, killer body - Mr.Tall,Dark and Delicious :D Fiona, you lucky girl! :) And in this book we’ll meet again with the well-known characters from the previous books, there is Izzy,Fiona and Jackson daughter, little adorable girl, she is a cute little charmer! "…sometimes you have to move past the mistakes you made in order to find what you really need.Even if those mistakes have a real good hold on your heart." Sweet Surprise is a wonderful journey of finding true love, second chances at life and fighting for what you love. " … at the end of the day,the only thing that mattered were the ones you loved." P.S: And the cover, look at that wonderful cover,is one of my favorite! :)
