About the Author

Willie Devargas, a children's music artist, was born and raised in New York City. He fell in love with music as a child, immersed in the diversity of the city and exposed to sounds from all over the world. As an early childhood music teacher Willie saw how his original music sparked his students to dance, clap, smile, and open up in new ways. He was hooked and inspired to keep on creating songs with empowering messages about life and our world, simple enough for our youngest children to understand and with rhythm that all ages can appreciate. Willie is a recipient of the Blackboard Award for teaching and has been highlighted as a top Kindie artist in NYC by New York Family magazine. In a life that revolves around his love for bringing music to children, Devargas can often be found teaching ukulele lessons to preschoolers, donating time at local hospitals and libraries, and performing for children's parties and events. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and son.

Lisa Goldberg is the illustrator of the picture books 'Sadie's Shabbat Stories' published by Clear Fork Publishing, and 'Teddy' published by Super Giant Creatures. A member of the SCBWI and a graduate of the Children's Book Academy, Lisa previously worked for many years as an architect. She is a passionate animal lover and a member of the Art of Compassion Project, an international artists' collective dedicated to raising awareness and funds to improve the lives of animals. She is also a super giant fan of Willie Devargas' music and is excited to be collaborating with him on their next picture book. She lives on the Lower East Side of New York City with her husband, daughter and two spoiled cats.
