Tempting Levi by Jules Barnard

Off-limits never looked so tempting.

Problem is, she's his ex's little sister.

Levi grew up in one of the wealthiest, most dysfunctional families in Lake Tahoe, and all he wanted was to get the hell out. He thought he'd succeeded. Until an accident burned up his firefighter ambitions. Then his father died and left him in charge of the family's luxury resort.

Now Levi has financially uptight advisors telling him what to do, and he needs someone he can trust working at his side.

The perfect candidate walks through the door in her pencil skirt, fitted white blouse, and a mass of wavy blond hair she tries to contain.

The only problem? She's his cheating ex's younger sister.

Hell no. The last thing he needs is another Wright female in his life.

Then again, he always liked playing with fire.

You'll love this USA Today Bestseller, because nothing is more exciting than watching a man risk it all for his family and the woman he loves. Grab it now!

Another new author to me and one I will be looking into further. Levi is in untenable position, pushed into running his family's luxury resort. He never planned to return home, let alone run the family business and keep his brothers in check, but circumstances change. When the woman hired to help him turns out to be Emily Wright, his ex's sister, he finds himself faced with a dilemma. Complications arise when he finds himself insanely attracted to Emily. Can he trust her not to burn him like her sister did? Does he take a risk and get involved? Or will the fact that she is his assistant be to much of a complication?  The chemistry between Levi and Emily sizzles and they complement each other well.  Although this a spin off from another series that I haven't read I had no issues following the story.  I will certainly be looking at her other books and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Levi Cade needs help. Levi is the oldest Cade brother and has been placed in charge of the families’ luxury resort in Lake Tahoe. He has no idea why his father felt that he was ready to take over the resort as his years as a firefighter has not prepared him for this. Enter Emily Wright, little sister of his cheating ex, Lisa, who is all grown up. Emily has a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and has been hired to replace Esther, his fathers’ assistant, who is retiring. Emily is doing her best to put out all the fires, for both the business and family members. There is a different fire happening between Emily and Levi – she has always had a crush on him and he has never seen her as other than Lisa’s younger sister…until now. The family dynamics between the brothers was a little confusing for me. I felt as if I had missed a previous book that gave explanations as to the mixed feelings between the brothers. An entertaining romance and beginning to the Cade Brothers series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Fiesty girl gets sister ex boyfriend she's lusted after since he was her sisters boyfriend. Helps that hes got a good body and handsome to boot, Good read just a typical story line. Rich brothers inherit said father's empire and nobody wants it, Poor brooding spoiled rich children.

Great book

A good read but to much put on the fact that Emily is the sister of the ex. Could¿ have been better if there was more about the couples growing relationship and a lot less of the sister of the ex thing.

I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. A bit of romance, a bit of angst and a whole lot of fun. And while there were times I wanted to put Levi and his brothers through a wall Emily made it worth the read. This is a twist on the best friends little sister trope. This is a my big sisters ex-boyfriend and oh the issues that provides. Fans of Jill Shalvis and early Lori Foster will love this. This is the first I’ve read by this author but I assure you it won’t be the last.

Oh these Cade brothers are yummy and frustrating all at the same time. This is a new series that focuses on the rest of the Cade brothers- if you've already been introduced to Adam in Jules Barnard's last series. Levi Cade is running Club Tahoe after his father's death - much to his dismay over his loss of his real passion firefighting AND the betrayal of his ex. In to assist in the running of the club is Emily Wright - who just happens to be the younger sister of said cheating ex. Levi's stubborn denial of the pull and chemistry between him and Emily is beyond frustrating. But that's all part of the Cade persona. Emily is sweet, smart, and way more patient than Levi deserves. This is an enjoyable read as are all of Barnard's books. Looking forward to the rest of the brothers' stories. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Tempting Levi is an enjoyable story. Levi and Emily are likable and make a good couple. Emily is an intelligent, competent woman who doesn't take guff from anybody. She is the glue holding Club Tahoe, and the Cade brothers, together. Levi works hard to keep the resort afloat while figuring out how to be a CEO. The rest of the Cade brothers work just as hard to keep the place running smoothly. They don't always agree but they get the job done. I was glad to see Levi and Hunt starting to work on mending their relationship. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about Levi dating Emily. It was over between Lisa and Levi years ago and Emily had nothing to do with their break-up. To me, it was simply a weak way to try to add drama. There was more than enough drama without it. Drama that actually kept the story moving forward and held my attention. I wish there had been a little more detail concerning the resolution of the loss of revenue experienced by Club Tahoe. It was all done 'behind the scenes' without much explanation. I do recommend reading Tempting Levi. It is a good story and kept me engaged from beginning to end. I look forward to reading Wes' story next.

I can't wait for more books in this series! This is the first book I've read by Jules, and it for sure won't be my last! This was a solid and steamy contemporary romance with a large cast of characters I can't wait to learn more about! Emily and Levi were in a tough spot; they knew they had feelings for each other, but thy let the stigma of Emily being "the ex's little sister" stop them from pursing each other. They worked in close proximity, so you can imagine the tension that was built up having to restrain themselves! I really liked Levi. He suffered loss in his personal and professional lives and then his father died and dropped a high-end resort on him. It was interesting to read how he coped with all of the above and incorporated them all into his current life. Emily also experienced some rough stuff in her life, but it helped to form her assertiveness. I liked when she unleashed said assertiveness when it came to Levi. Nope, no pushover here! I FLEW through this book, not wanting to put it down! I'm looking forward to reading more about these here Cade boys! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)

A fantastic story that touched every corner of my heart. It was so exciting to see Owen Shaughnessy shed his nerdy shell and become the man he was always meant to be. Owen has dated before but never has he known a woman who understands him the way the feisty free spirited Brooke Mathews does. He will never be able to thank his mentor and Brooke's uncle enough for introducing him. This is one of the best opposites attract stories I've read. Owen is serious, lacks social skills, and feels a little lost in world. Brooke is artistic, outgoing, and appears confident and strong. Together they are explosive. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
