Co-founded the Arizona Tourism Association in 1996 and established the Greater Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce in 1998, headquartered in Phoenix

Established the “Rediscover Our American Roots” tourism package in 1999 for use with visitors during conventions

Helped establish the BEST program with the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Hospitality Pipeline program with Cornell University (encouraging minority high school students to pursue careers in hospitality)

Involved in innumerable smaller tourism- and community-related projects, e.g., coordinated luncheons and activities with the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Desert Botanical Gardens, Phoenix Art Museum, etc; helped Phoenix Library stage the award-winning Game Face Exhibit in 2006; community events with Diamondbacks and Suns; introduced “First Tee” program to Phoenix; etc
