This book reinforces healthy eating habits and gives you a plan. The main idea is to keep your metabolism working for you even during fasting. Reading this great book you find very realistic and achievable principles to incorporate into your life. The meal plans and links to calorie counters are wonderful and help you stay accountable.

This book has fasting plans that divide that fasting and non-fasting time into your schedule and divided by the days of the week. Fasting can also provide a way for your body to cleanse waste and toxins. This book for beginners can give you long term weight management plans and recipes. The book encourages nutritious foods and healthier alternatives whether you want to lose weight or simple want to change your eating habits. This book is an excellent read.

The 5:2 diet in this book refers to eating “normally” 5 days each week and fasting on the remaining 2 days. Luckily it's not a complete fast, just a reduced calorie fast. For me, that fact alone makes the diet easy to stick to. To round things out, a good deal of the book is made up of recipes, all of which are tasty and easy to prepare.

The 5:2 Fast Diet for Beginners is a quick and easy read. The fasting plan offered in the book is easy to follow and easy to understand for dieting beginners. There is a large number of healthy recipes included, and the ingredients are common items that do not require a trip to a specialty market. It contains detailed meal plans and a snack food list and explains how to supplement healthy meals with the listed snacks. Overall, this is a good recipe book to own and contains an easy to follow fasting diet plan.

This is a great guide for someone like me who's new to intermittent fasting.  I was surprised it's all about healthy eating and exercise and not some starvation diet. It was a fast read.  I really liked the recipes too.  Can't wait to try them.  I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is new to this type of diet.

I really enjoyed this book.  Unlike some other diet books I have read, this one did not bore me with a bunch of theory, and why the diet works.  Also it was not full of restrictions and can't haves, but instead turned out to be a great resource for cooking some wonderful meals!  I would say this book is more of a great cookbook than a diet book! Delicious recipes that are healthy and low in fat...who could ask for more?  I especially loved the Quick Miso Soup with Bok Choy and Shrimp.  The Cranberry and Walnut pancakes are also a delicious treat!

I finally found a book with an easy to follow plan for fasting which includes 5 days of healthy eating and a simple 2 day fasting plan. The book’s plan on days that you are fasting only restricts you to 500 calorie/women – 600 calorie/men diet. I think this makes you more likely to choose meals that are filling and healthy on those days. The book even has simple and easy to make recipes to help on both fasting and non-fasting days. I think this it is a good fasting diet program for the beginner.

Fasting requires a bit of discipline, especially if you plan to do a long term one but the proposition in this diet, to eat healthily for 5 days from a list of suggested recipes/whole foods and then eat much less on 2 days of your choosing seems much more manageable. The recipes look tasty and the fact that you can still eat minimum amounts on the fasting days makes this look like something I would actually try as opposed to just reading and throwing it in my, Yeah Right, pile.

I am so excited to find an easy way to introduce fasting into my diet. I wanted a boost to my new diet, something to help bust through the plateau I’ve been on despite the exercise and diet changes. The 5:2 Fast Diet for Beginners is the tool I’ve been looking for. I’ve never fasted before, and frankly, it sounds daunting. But this book makes it easy with its plan of 5 non-fasting days and 2 non-consecutive fasting days a week. And the days of fast are not as bad I thought they’d be, because I’ll still be able to eat! Yahoo! Admittedly, it’ll be much less than a non-fasting day, but it is a FAST after all. Recipes and meal plans are provided, like Broiled Halibut with Garlic Spinach and Portobello Cheeseburgers. The book talks about the health benefits of adding fasting to your life, suggests exercises, and even has motivational tips to help you be successful. I’m really looking forward to seeing the numbers on my scale ticking off the pounds again!

While fasting can be a controversial subject, The 5:2 Diet for Beginners is a great book to dispel myths about fasting as well as provide guidelines for those embarking on the diet.  They take great care to outline the health plan, benefits and warnings of an intermittent fasting diet as well as equip the reader with tools for success including delicious and varied recipes.

This book suggests a new approach to weight loss: 2 days of fasting (very restricted calories) out of every 7 days.  It applies some of the principles of low-carb dieting, but in a way that is easier to do (especially if all-out low carb is a struggle for you.)  It guides you through how to do 2 fast days in a month, and gives a lot of recipes for fasting days and non-fasting days.

I am surprised by how little people know about the weight loss power of intermittent fasting. The 52 Fast Diet for Beginner, by Rockbridge Press, unveils the fundamentals of intermittent fasting, the health benefits and its ability to help people “shed body fat.” This book does an amazing job of simplifying weight loss by giving the reader a diet plan, nutrition knowledge, exercise tips and motivational advice to help along the way. This book is a great choice for people looking to lose body fat and improve their general health.

It takes effort to eat healthier but the recipes and tips in this book make it so much easier. The recipes are pretty simple and use many of the same ingredients but are each different enough to offer a lot of variety in flavor and texture. The meal plans are so simple yet flexible they would be easy to follow indefinitely.

If we ate more like our primitive ancestors, would we look and feel better for it? According to the “5:2 Fast,” if you fast twice a week and eat normally but healthfully the other days, you’ll enjoy improved heart and brain health and avoid “metabolic syndrome,” in which glucose is stored as fat instead of burned as fuel. Luckily, you don’t have to understand the science to enjoy the advantages of this straightforward plan. P.S. It’s not starvation! You eat two low-cal meals and several snacks on fasting days. The recipes sound great.

This book tells gives an overview of how fasting can help you lose weight. I could use a little more detail on the subject to help me understand the method.  I did like the recipe ideas and the quick little dessert  ideas. I’ll probably read a little more elsewhere before I give this a try.

I am very pleased to find this 5:2 weight loss diet since I wanted to lose my weight for a long time. This book includes almost all information that I want to know, such as the tips on how to follow the diet, the recipes for both fasting and non-fasting days and weekly meal plan. If you are a beginner of weight loss diet and looking for something simple but healthy, I would recommend this book to you.
