Abel Thomas, a Unitarian minister, writer, and antislavery activist from Philadelphia, published The ABCs of Slavery: A Primer of Freedom, a children's A-to-Z book about the evils of slavery, in 1864. Thomas used the pseudonym Iron Gray.
