Top Tip: Don’t put out an online ad offering your services as a fake date. Someone will take you up on it.
And it won’t just be for one night.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I ended up being Mason Jackson’s fake girlfriend.

He didn’t even want me to be. No—his sister was solely responsible for me being his date for his ten-year high school reunion.

Now, she’s responsible for telling his parents our relationship is real.

We have no choice. We have to act like this isn’t all a mistake, like it’s not all fake, like we’re totally, completely, utterly, head-over-heels in love with each other.

Simple, right?

Emma Hart continues to make me smile in complete adoration! Her RomComs are always so sweet, so full of fun. I find myself completely enamoured with her characters. Lauren is just how I image the author's personality to be... hilarious (like woops I just peed a little funny), she's snarky and totally raunchy with the humor of a 12 year old boy! However, she's kind and has a heart of gold. Mason is Lauren's perfect match! He's charming and adorably sweet but watch out... his humor is just as sharp as Lauren's. And their banter is seriously insane! I can't get over the perma-grin on my face due to Hart's writing! The way Emma Hart develops her stories and the amazingly, awkward and jovial characters makes her my favorite RomCom author. Hart's writing is clear and completely strait forward. It's a style of writing that I just can't read quickly enough due to the tears in my eyes from laughter. It's always perfect timing to read a new Emma Hart book... it just after I've read several heart-breaking books that make me sob. Then in walks Miss Hart with a sweet and charming story with a bunch of heat and low drama!! I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

These two have all the sarcasm and snark and then some. Mason and Lauren have an unconventional start, but a very amusing one. These two have such similar personalities and their chemistry us flawless. I love how fun their relationship is and how snarky they both are. They are so cute trying to be a fake couple and don't even realize there is nothing fake about it. I adored their story to bits!

3 witty stars! Review by Nancy Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog The Accidental Girlfriend is a rom-com with a fake girlfriend trope. Emma Hart is one of my go-to authors when I’m in the mood for a light, fun read. This book was no exception to her writing, it was humorous with witty banter and laugh out loud moments. With that said, it was not my favorite E.Hart book. The basis of the story is what caught my attention. I love a good fake girlfriend trope. This started off great, but the characters fell a little short for my liking. E. Hart has a style, and going into her books I know that, but for some reason, I couldn’t connect to Lauren and Mason. Lauren is all sass and attitude. She speaks her mind and sticks to her guns. When she first meets Mason there is an immediate attraction. They were just supposed to go on one fake date and then they were supposed to be in a fake relationship, but that was it. Except for their fake relationship slowly morphed into something real. I felt like the actual relationship was a little rushed. Lauren and Mason spent most of the book fighting their attraction towards each other. They both preferred the single life and Lauren made sure she made that clear throughout the book. Once she finally accepted that their fake relationship was no longer fake, they were perfect for each other. I think the best part of this book was Mason’s family. There were times I felt overwhelmed with all the characters, but they definitely kept me laughing. They added another dimension to the story.

THE ACCIDENTAL GIRLFRIEND is typical Emma Hart, through and through. Smart, snarky, sassy heroine that doesn't give a hoot about what others think of her, an equally sassy posse of girlfriends that usually have her back, a male lead that is comfortable with himself and is happily single, and family members that refuse to mind their own business, and are absolute gold because of the laughs that they bring. These are the very things that keep me coming back to Emma's books, and this one did not disappoint. Lauren and Mason may start out as a faux couple, but their chemistry is real from the get-go. And with her interfering friends, and his interfering family, there is no way in the world that these two can go their separate ways. And, although the build-up is a bit slow, since, you know, neither or them is "looking for a relationship," we know that Emma will work her magic and get them to exactly where they need to be. Emma has really hit her stride with her romantic comedies. They are always extremely readable, entertaining, and filled with plenty of humor, romance, and fantastic characters. THE ACCIDENTAL GIRLFRIEND ranks right up there with the best of them, and is a must-read for Emma's fans and anyone that appreciates a good romantic comedy with a generous serving of sass and steam.

This was my first book by Emma Hart and I had a good time with it. It was chock full of fun banter and had some very colorful characters, but I did feel that it was missing a bit of the emotion underneath all the laughs to keep me fully engaged. There was no shortage of laughter that Lauren and Mason could bring. From their text messages to their verbal sparring matches, these two had me laughing out loud and looking forward to their next exchange. You could definitely feel the chemistry between these two, but as much as I loved both Mason and Lauren, I had a hard time connecting with Lauren’s character emotionally. Mason was easy – he quickly realizes that he may be in deeper than he anticipated with his fake girlfriend, and I think getting to know his story and meet his ex made it easy to understand where he was coming from. With Lauren, it’s not until the very end we get to fully see underneath the snark and sass, and I wish there were more glimpses of that earlier and more often in the story. I did enjoy the other characters in the book. Lauren’s sister and BFFs were a hoot and I loved Mason’s best friend Trevor. Mason’s family was quite….unique….and I can only imagine spending a family get-together with them! Overall, this was a fun read that was well written. It read quickly, wasn’t too angsty, and has me looking forward to reading more from the author.

“ All we had to do was keep our distance. I had a feeling that would be a lot harder for me than it was for Lauren. She was controlled, and I … was not.” When I started reading The Accidental Girlfriend, I had just made myself a cuppa and was sitting comfortably on my sofa- Perfect setting. Then I started reading and BOOM, the very first sentence of chapter one made me laugh so hard that I sprayed my tea all over my kindle! The story is about Lauren and Mason and “their fake relationship.” Mason was exactly what Lauren was missing from her life. The dialogue, the banter , the dual POV and texts- YES the texts LOL- made me laugh so many times to even keep count. I found Mason “ BOB THE BUILDER” LOL so endearing and I love how he was when he was Lauren- he was caring but also given it back. He is 28 years old and his mum… still buys him shirts ;-) Emma Hart is definitely the Queen of Rom-com and she always manages to make you feel good, happy and put a big smile on your face with her words. I hated Claudia! I loved Henry the cat! “ Have you ever had a cat sit on your head and fart?” I can’t say that’s something I’ve ever experienced , no. She nodded. “ I wouldn’t recommend it” If you want a book that will have you laughing out loud and saying OMG then this book is for you. It's unique, funny and wonderful.

So, I pretty much love all things that I have read by Emma Hart, and I knew I'd have to read this one as soon as I heard about it. It started out a little iffy for me, because while I get why Mason's sister signed him up for a fake girlfriend, the whole reasoning behind Lauren advertising to do it was a little iffy on actually making sense to me. But that's okay, because in the end, the whole deal turned out to be as hilarious as Hart's other books have been. Once again the banter and fun of the characters interactions made this a read that I sped through. This was a very simple story compared to the others that I've read. Just basically the fake girlfriend romance you expected. It was pretty predictable, which made it a nice easy summer read. I did enjoy how once again the author weaves the hilariousness of elderly relatives into the family dynamics of her stories. While this isn't going to go on the top of my list of Emma Hart books, it was a good one.

Omg I absolutely loved this story. The whole fake relationship leading to feelings was awesome. You can’t have an Emma book without having some comedic relief. We get some awesome secondary characters. The best is the banter between Lauren and Mason. In my belief i think that their back and forth helps this story and made it more entertaining. I want a Mason for myself! Definitely a 5 star read!

Emma has a way with words that never ceases to amaze me and suck me in like no other. Lauren and Mason had me laughing almost the whole book. Their wit was like no other and just hit the point that while reading I got man funny looks because of how many times I laughed out loud. Lauren and Mason had chemistry from the beginning, even though neither of them wanted to admit it. Lauren is a very independent women that has a hard exterior but is truly a softy at heart. Her wit is like no other and this makes her very humorous. Mason is your typical hot, builder. The only thing is he has a wit and humor that matches Lauren. Mason has also been hurt in the past and swore off of relationships. Their relationship starts as a fake one but will it turn real? Will their true feelings win and they take a chance?

Oh. My. Lanta. I was laughing almost as soon as I started this story. Lauren was 100% relatable, not to mention quick-witted and sarcastic to an award worthy level. She and her friends begin by placing an online ad for a fake date (wine was involved, so I'm sure you understand). When she meets her fake date, he's a pretty fantastic guy who has unfortunately been burned by his ex. On their first meeting, I knew this was a match made in heaven because of their banter. This story had fantastic main characters, but even better was filled with an entire cast of amazingly unique characters. Everyone had their own personality and shined through whenever they appeared on the page. My favorites were Aunt Pru and Mason's nosy neighbor, who ironically gives some of the best dating advice: "You wouldn't buy a rotten vegetable. Don't date one, either, especially if you've already thrown it out once." It seems that Emma's writing is veering more toward snarky, witty banter, laugh out loud comedy, and uniquely charming characters. I have been LOVING these stories that give me love, just enough heat, and a story that makes me smile all the way through.

This! This is why Emma Hart is an automatic one click author for me! The Accidental Girlfriend had me busting out laughing from the very first line and hooked me right then! I couldn't put it down. Lauren is absolutely hilarious, her quick wit and fun loving personality had me rooting for her form the start. A few drinks at girls night has Lauren and her friends posting an ad to Craigslist to find her a man. In just a few hours she gets a response from the sexy, swoony Mason Jackson, for a fake date. I couldn't get enough of this hilariously fun friends-to-lovers story. I highly recommend you pick this one up!

4 'Accidental' stars!! The Accidental Girlfriend is another laugh out loud romantic comedy from Emma Hart. It fun, sweet and a little bit of a slow burner. Lauren and Mason were a good match even if it was ‘accidental’. A drunk Lauren was persuaded by her besties to post an ad offering her services. Nooo, not those kind. Get your head out of the gutter lol. She offered to be someone’s girlfriend for a one off time. Mason’s sister saw the ad and Kaboom, the rest is history. They had an instant chemistry, but neither was looking to have a relationship, at least so they thought. But, soon, after spending a little time texting and meeting up, they start to get the ‘feels’ and it’s all just one crazy ride from there on. There were some hilarious moments in the story, the secondary characters were something else!! Line dancing and senior moments not to be missed!!! I had a blast reading this one and I’m sure you will too. Grab your copy today.

The Accidental Girlfriend is a sweet and funny story, very enjoyable and full of fun and great moments! Emma Hart's sarcastic humor is something that at this point is her trademark but nevertheless it doesn't stop to marvel me and I enjoy reading her more and more. It seems that her characters are every time a little more funny, and easy to love. Lauren is funny, very strong and very independent. Mason is just gorgeous and accept to go on a fake date to please his mum and stop her nagging him about having a girlfriend. And this is how lauren and Mason meet... This is a great story, totally hilarious and I wholly recommend it!

Every time I open up one of Emma Hart’s romantic comedies, I know I’m going to meet a snarky, stubborn, and outspoken heroine who more than gives those around her a run for their money, and I also prepare myself for the humorous, awkward, and out there situations that will have me cracking up at the characters’ antics and the trouble they seem to find themselves in due to either a more than tipsy quick decision or an encounter that sends them spiraling into self-created chaos. Lauren is very much like Hart’s other feisty and intelligent heroines, but Lauren also has her own unique characteristics that are developed as her and Mason’s story continues. Her filter is non-existent, especially when she’s with her girlfriends, and there’s a fierceness to her that usually comes out when someone messes with her or those she loves. I definitely think Lauren met her match with Mason because his quick wit and comebacks are on part with Lauren’s and that’s exactly what Lauren needs in her life - someone to put her in her place and set her straight when she gets a bit out of control/unhinged. Lauren and Mason’s chemistry is there from their very first encounter and regardless of the fact that Mason agrees to a fake relationship with Lauren to appease his sister and mother, they fit into each other’s lives easily and have more in common than they ever thought possible. Mason’s eccentric and hilarious relatives make fantastic secondary characters and they keep Mason and Lauren on their toes throughout the entire story, pushing them to give into what they’re feeling toward one another and make what started out as something fake more than a reality. There are a lot of fake relationship romance stories out there, but because Emma Hart puts her own spin on the original story line by creating hilarious and relatable heroines, laugh out loud situations, and a set of secondary characters who add their own comical one-liners and have personalities that make them stand out in their own right, it’s easy to understand why so many readers call her the queen of the romcoms! 4 Poison Apples

Laugh out loud, snarky, sarcastic, totally unexpected fun. Lauren’s only relationship is with her surly cat, Henry, that loves to sit on people’s heads. But a girl’s night pushes her to post an ad to be someone’s fake date that is cleverly crafted. Step-in Kirsty, who reaches out to Lauren to line up a fake date for her brother Mason. Mason is totally off relationships after walking in on his girlfriend of 6 years having sex with her boss. Yep, totally not dating. When Kirsty connects him with Lauren, his plan is to decline but then the rapid-fire text messages pull him in and he needs to meet this woman. From there, the sparks never die for Lauren and Mason as Mason handles easily all the sarcasm Lauren slings. Along the way, Lauren gets to meet Mason’s wacky family which she handles with ease. So, will these commitment phoebes realize they have found their true match? I had a blast finding out as they kept me on my toes with their intense and fast-paced banter.

How can you go wrong with an Emma Hart rom-com.....YOU CAN'T!!!! This book had me mesmerized with the laugh out loud moments (which was pretty much the entire book), the undeniable chemistry (hello, two sexy as sin characters.....need I say more) and the unforgettable snarky one-liners (crotch goblin.....OMG I was dying, just dying)! Mason and Lauren's story is one memorable read that will have you so engrossed you won't realize you reached the end until keep trying to flip pages that just aren't there. This hilarious read has just become my FAVORITE book from Mrs. Hart and one I recommend for those who LOVE a great romantic comedy!

***5 ‘Hard Work’ Stars*** I snort/laughed my way through the majority of this book. I tried not too, but I did. These characters, ALL of them, from Mason & Lauren down to Cara & Henry were so unique that I was all kinds of happy to just sit back and take all of the crazy in and was quite sad when I had to say goodbye. I adored Mason and Lauren. ADORED. Mason is a really good man. Laid back (because he has no choice considering his family) charming (again, because of his family) and is simply comfortable in his own skin. Lauren is a force to be reckoned with. This woman owns everything that she is: the good, the bad, the loving, the snarky and the lack of edit button. She is definitely someone I’d want to be BFF’s with. As for their journey to their HEA, it was a lot of fun. Low, very low, on drama and angst and high of humor and heart, from the moment Mason and Lauren met it was obvious they were perfect for each other. They simply flowed so well together it was fun to sit back and watch as they fought against their growing attraction and feelings for each other and failed magnificently at it. The Accidental Girlfriend is firmly situated next to Four Day Fling as a top fav. This baby hit all my romcom buttons and then some. The characters in this one were all well written and just so much fun that I can’t even pick a favorite, that’s how much I loved and enjoyed them all. And I’m crossing my toes that we’ll see some of them again because there are a few that definitely deserve HEA’s of their own! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

This was the most fun story that was easy to read and witty, with characters that make you smile! Unconventional way to meet fake dates definitely, what happens when feelings come into play, or do they? I really loved the way both Mason and Lauren were! They are characters you would want as friends, caring but also a hoot and who doesn’t want friends like that! There is also Mason's family, they are brilliant and so entertaining and their antics, oh boy, hilarious!!! Dont get me started on Lauren's cat either, too flipping funny! This is the absolute best romantic comedy that would make a fantastic movie. Get your 1 click finger ready!!!

I don’t know what it is about this author and where she comes up with her one-liners, but she always leaves me in stitches. She is my go-to author when I find myself in need of a pick me up, a good laugh, or something light-hearted. The Accidental Girlfriend fits that bill. After being ribbed by her friends during a girls’ night for being single, Lauren posts a humorous ad on Craigslist offering up her services as a fake date. Unbeknownst to her, this little drunken escapade will lead her on the unlikely path to love when Mason’s meddling sister responds to her ad. Told from a dual POV, I loved seeing the witty banter between the two of them. The text messages were hysterical and even Lauren’s cat had me cracking up. Lauren is a confident heroine who has no filter. I loved her snark and sass and she is the type of friends that I would love to have in my corner. Mason was sweet and I like how loyal/dedicated he was to his oddball family. True to this author’s writing, the secondary characters really make the book. Lauren’s friends and her sister were entertaining and I loved Mason’s batty neighbor. Like some of the previous books, Mason has a quirky, oddball family where the elderly aunts and uncles misbehave in outrageous ways. I found some of their antics to be a bit over the top (something that I come to expect in this author’s books), but I was also snorting coffee through my noise because well, you just have to read the book. The Accidental Girlfriend is a fake relationship romance with a fun cast of characters and many laugh out loud moments that are sure to keep you entertained until the very end. I received this manuscript for free and I am definitely looking forward to more works by this author.

I just live for stories like The Accidental Girlfriend. The kind of story that just cracks you up. The kind of story where the chemistry and steam just oozes off the page. The kind of story that just has you living for those will they/won’t they moments. The Accidental Girlfriend had it all and then some. From the moment I picked up The Accidental Girlfriend, I was hooked. Lauren is the kind of girl that is just so cool, so calm, so comfortable with herself. She’s the kind of girl that is loyal to her friends and has zero filter. So, when her friends talk her into placing a fake girlfriend ad, I just knew it was going to lead to something epic. And I was not disappointed. Mason was exactly what Lauren was missing from her life. He got her humor and loved to rile her up. Their connection was off the charts and had a ton of amazing potential. I was glued to the pages of their story and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I honestly just love fake relationship stories. I mean, you have a pretty good idea of how they’re going to play out, but there is just something about Emma Hart’s books that make me feel like I’ve never experienced this type of story before. I love the feeling her books give me. The feeling of laughing so much that tears come out of my eyes. The feeling of having my heart tugged at when you hit the climax of a fake relationship story. I live and breath for these moments and Emma Hart never lets me down. The Accidental Girlfriend made me laugh, made me swoon, and made me fall head over heels in love. The Accidental Girlfriend was such a fun story. I couldn’t get enough of Mason and Lauren together. Their banter cracked me up and had me begging for more. The sexual tension was off the charts and the story incredibly well written. I loved the heck out of The Accidental Girlfriend. It was a fabulous read from beginning to end and was the perfect read to spend my day getting lost in.

Laugh out loud funny!! Swoon with sweetness and heat!! This is what you are getting from this new story from Emma Hart! This is the story of Lauren and Mason. The snark and saltiness of Lauren is amazing! She is what I want to be when I grow up! She gives as good as she takes and makes no apologies for it!  She has a hidden sweetness and softness that Mason is trying hard to find. Mason is just swoon! He has been burned by past relationships but it doesn't deter him when he gets to know Lauren and wants to know more about her.  His family is epically funny and quirky and everyone should have a family like this! This was a fast paced, couldn't put down till I was done story! It's classic Emma Hart and more!  She creates magic with her words! From Henry the cat to leather budgie smugglers (yes I had to Google that one!) You are gonna fall in love and laughter hard with this one!  Well done Ms. Hart! Well done!

It's fun to have a guilty pleasure, I can scream to the world about. Emma Hart keeps me laughing, always smiling and addicted to her brand of heartwarming. The Accidental Girlfriend begins with a mistake that turns out to be a perfect fit for love. With all the drama in the world, it's nice to have a reason to smile. Lauren and Mason are a ton of humor wrapped in a bundle of heart.
