About the Author
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on the 3rd January, 1892 at Bloemfontein in the Orange Free State, but at the age of four he and his brother were taken back to England by their mother. After his father’s death the family moved to Sarehole, on the south-eastern edge of Birmingham. Tolkien spent a happy childhood in the countryside and his sensibility to the rural landscape can clearly be seen in his writing and his pictures.

I gave it 5 stars even though i haven't read it, because I trust Tolkien's writing talent to have created such a wonderful book anyway...I enjoyed Lord of teh Rings and the Hobbit..and I am interested in what this sing-songy character has done in his past years.
Its adds on a new layer on to the best universe ever!!!!
A wonderful collaboration of poems to read outside on a summer day beneath a tree, or indoors on a rainy day in your favourite leather chair by the fire. Whatever the weather or circumstance, a glorious book to settle down with.
