Ascension by Jill Sanders

Jessica was getting tired of fighting fate. Not only had some really weird stuff been going on the past few months, but now she found herself crawling out of Jacob's bed. She hated the guy. Well, okay, she'd avoided the guy. Sure, she'd fantasized about him most of her life, but that didn't mean she couldn't fight the attraction. Something was coming and everyone in town felt it, not just the chosen group she'd found herself part of in the last few months. And, if her being with Jacob was fated, she was determined to fight it for as long as she could, because she knew what was coming, even when no one else did. She knew how important everyone's roles where in the next few weeks, but with the disappearance of Breanna, fate may have just taken a huge turn. For the worse.
Jacob has completely lost it. That's the only explanation for what he'd been going through. And now, suddenly he's found himself inexplicably drawn to Jess. But these new desires he felt for her were stronger than the need to breathe. What new powers did this witch hold over him? But more importantly, was there a chance they would survive the upcoming horrors?

The final book in a Trilogy I read all three books back to back and absolutely totally LOVED them all. All three books were full of mystery, suspense, romance, sex and just overall enchanting. The characters and how they all entwined was interesting and there were twists and turns throughout. I would love to see this made into a movie.

Such a captivating, thrilling, emotional, adrenaline pumping, paranormal mystery with a twist of romance. Took me two days after reading it to be able to form the right words to describe this final chapter of a highly entertaining and enchanting trilogy. It is one of those stories you can't help but devour as fast a possible while trying to slow yourself down because you so do not want it to end. (the struggles of a reading addict) Jessica and Jacob have such a complicated bond they struggle to do the right thing as far as everyone is concerned in this crazy, magical adventure. Their friends and family are so interesting and realistic I enjoyed every aspect of this amazing world and the charters in it. A series I know I will read over and over again.

A great end to this trilogy. I was waiting for this book because the second book kind of left us with a cliffhanger. I was not disappointed. Jess has loved Jacob for most of her life and has decided that if her fate is as she sees it in her visions, she is going to grab onto life and live it. Her parents, who abandoned her when she was 13, are back and things are not what she thought. They need to finish this whole thing and Jess isn't sure if they will live through it. She has so many reasons to live and she can only hope that they do enough. Jacob would do anything to protect Jess and the others, so he has to figure out a plan B to make sure they all come out of this alive. Will it be enough?

I would have never thought that a paranormal mystery/romance was my cup of tea. I'd be very wrong in this case. I'm thrilled that this author ventured into the paranormal! This is the third book in a paranormal mystery/romance trilogy and it was great. Each book recounts the events that have happened and then continues the story a bit further from a different couple's perspective. If someone told me this, I would have thought that it was a redundant re-telling. I would have been extremely wrong. Each perspective fills in missing info and events that fell into the timeline and then carried the story a bit further. I must say kudos to this author and certainly hope she keeps delving into this genre further. I would definitely read more of these type of books should she decide to write them.
