Overview

The Band Aid by John Hope, Bob Stuhmer

Band aids cure all, at least that's how kids view them. After a five-year-old girl discovers her daddy crying alone in his room, she searches for a band aid to help him stop crying. A kind neighbor gives her a band aid and she rushes home to give it to her daddy. Touched, he sits her down and explains that there are some wounds that band aids cannot reach, but tells her of a different cure. She understands that this alternative cure requires spending time with her daddy and giving him hugs, so that she can be his band aid.

About the Author

A father of two, John writes children's books with his kids in his heart. He loves to sit on their beds at night, sandwiched between them and their armies of stuffed animals, and conjure up stories to make them laugh and spark their imaginations.

After kissing them goodnight, John jots down ideas from these stories and notes his kids' reactions. He works the best parts into published works, which he hopes will lead to other parents sitting on beds reading stories to their own children.
