The Basement Gang is a true story about youth wrestling. It takes place in early 1977 in Bettendorf, Iowa. The story is told through the experience and observations of the author as an 11 year old. This journey illustrates middle school kids being inspired by one of the greatest sports of all time. An encouraging push by the author's best friend, sparked a lifelong passion in the sport of wrestling. Many of the kids in the story have stayed connected as adults today.
