About the Author

Melissa Davis is former attorney and educator who was one of twelve graduate level students in the inaugural class of the world's first master's degree program on the musical and cultural impact of the Beatles. Davis graduated with Honors in 2011; her dissertation focused on the US reception of the group in February 1964. With Melissa Davis, she authored the most comprehensive annotated bibliography of writings about the Beatles (2012) and its 2013 supplement. Currently, she is completing the new edition of the annotated bibliography, scheduled for publication in late 2023.
Dr. Michael Brocken is an author, lecturer and longtime broadcaster born and bred in Liverpool. He earned one of the first doctoral degrees in the study of popular music and has written extensively on the subject. In 2009, Brocken founded the world's first graduate level degree program focused specifically on the musical and cultural impact of the Beatles. With Melissa Davis, he authored the most comprehensive annotated bibliography of writings about the Beatles (2012) and its 2013 supplement.
