The Berglarian: An Adult Comedy in Two Acts
Inspired by true events, The Berglarian follows Toronto couple Magda and Sol during an upheaval in Magda's life. She is being haunted by the spirit of Edmund Bergler, known in the play as, "The Berglarian." The Berglarian's theories are kept alive by psychoanalyst Dr. Metterlink, a devoted, fervent, acolyte of the deceased psychoanalyst. Magda had been in psychoanalysis with Dr. Metterlink years before, when Metterlink practiced Berglarian therapy on her and had her read books on Berglarian treatment, until Magda left Metterlink and moved on with her life.

However, the past collides with the present. Magda's psyche is triggered when she reads that Dr. Metterlink is being investigated. It is then the haunting begins, not only by The Berglarian, but by Sol's ghostly mother, Florence, unbeknownst to Sol, who is an atheist. Afraid she is losing her mind, Magda seeks help from her friend's psychologist, Dr. Silkhorn. He, too, is an atheist. The Berglarian continues to haunt her, disrupt her marriage and endanger Dr. Silkhorn's life, until the ghost threatens her with a final request.

The Berglarian is a sometimes hilarious, sometimes frightening play that scores Magda's search for psychic healing, aided and thwarted by two ghosts, Sol, her nemesis Dr. Metterlink, and the wise Dr. Silkhorn. As Magda struggles to confront her fears, she risks losing her marriage, Sol and her sanity, until she breaks free from Metterlink and The Berglarian's psychic stranglehold.
