Owen’s spicy second Inferno Rising romance (after The Rogue King) proves to be a page-turner as Blood King Ladon Ormarr, a dragon-shifter, gets a shot at a political union that could put him in line to become the high king of all dragon clans. Powerful phoenix Skylar Amon, one of a quadruplet of sisters, was forced into hiding following her mother’s murder at the hands of dragon-shifters. But when Kasia, one of Skylar’s sisters, goes missing, Skylar emerges from hiding and infiltrates Ladon’s clan’s fortress in Ben Nevis, Scotland, to rescue her—only to find that Kasia is not a captive at all, but is actually mated to Ladon’s closest ally. Despite her skill, Skylar is quickly discovered by Ladon who is drawn to her strength, beauty, and the opportunity to arrange a marriage that could provide both political and tactical advantage in the brewing dragon war. Skylar reluctantly agrees, initially viewing the marriage as a business arrangement but warming to Ladon as she sees how he differs from the dragons who murdered her parents.
