Overview

Sitting at a crossroads in the Guatemalan highlands, the Blue River Hotel has served as witness to the conflict and consequences of the country's civil war. About the Author

Stephen Henighan has published more than a dozen books, including novels, short story collections, nonfiction, and works of literary criticism. His work has appeared in magazines and anthologies, such as Lettre International, The Mays Anthology, Best Canadian Stories, The Malahat Review, The Fiddlehead, and Prairie Fire, and he has been a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award, the Canada Prize in the Humanities, a McNally Robinson Fiction Prize, and the Malahat Novella Prize, among others. He teaches Latin American literature at the University of Guelph, Ontario.
