The Book of Abraham was a purported translation of Abraham’s writing by Joseph Smith. This work, by the LDS church leader George Reynolds, is a defense of the writing’s authenticity. Egyptologists in the 20th century would later identify the piece of papyrus as parts of the Egyptian Book of the Dead.
