Review: Rating: 4.5 of 5 Heat: 2 Cover comment: So Pretty Book source: Edelweiss You know me and how I love a good Cowboy Romance so I could hardly pass up a chance to read the first book in a new series ~ Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys. I have not read Lizbeth's previous series, Rural Gentlemen but I understand it is excellent so yep, it's been added to my TBR pile! lol When I pick up The Bride Wore Denim to start reading it, I had no problem getting into it. Even the funeral that kinda starts the story off was reminiscent of some experiences I have had and I was easily transported to right smack dab in the heart of Wyoming Ranch land. Before I knew it, I was meeting the primary characters in the story. The death in the story was that of the father of the family. As these times often do, this brought all of the children home, even those who had not been there in some time. All in all there were six daughters, one of whom was Harper, our heroine. This is her love story, a possible chance at love with Cole, her secret childhood crush. The big problem? Not that he isn't interested, oh no. It's that Mia, one of Harper's sisters and Cole have dated for years so talk about awkward! Making things worse, Mia has some unresolved issues with Harper plus if there is one thing you don't do, it's break the Sister Code - It's Sisters over Misters after all! So there are some serious family dynamics in play in this book and Lizbeth handled it all with great fineness. Having grown up in a small family, I never dealt with a lot of issues like the ones seen here but my husband has shared tales from his childhood of being one of six kids. Quite the adventure I think. Cole played his role well. He was not only Harper's love interest but he also shared his great love of ranching, of the land and the legacy his father lost. It all gives Harper so much to chew on, to decide where her roots and her true self really lie - Chicago or here in Wyoming? In the end all comes together as it should, and leaving plenty of room for more character growth in the upcoming books. I truly enjoyed reading The Bride Wore Denim. I love the land and ranching as though I were born to it so when I get to read wonderfully written book such as these, it feels like coming home. I love the feeling Lizbeth puts in her books of seeing old friends and family and feeling welcome with room for one more at the table.

A great start to a new series! The seven Crockett girls have all returned to Paradise Ranch upon the death of their father. Harper is the free spirit artist, trying to make a go of it in Chicago (love Gino's Pizza). She runs into Cole, her high school crush, plus her sister's ex boyfriend. They soon find out their is an attraction between them. Does she listen to her heart or follow her career, or can she have both at Paradise Ranch. Great descriptive writing, it makes the reader really feel like they are there. Loved the secondary story of Skylar, a young Harper. I can't wait to start reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book for all lovers of small town contemporary romance.

The Bride Wore Denim is the first book in The Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys series by Lizbeth Selvig. Harper and Cole have known each other since they were children, but Cole was off limits as he dated Harper's sister Amelia... Sister code and all. I loved how easily Harper and Cole get back into their friendship. I think they have a common goal in regards to the farm, but they butt heads about how to go about getting it done. The whole family is in disagreement. Add in some close calls and an accident or two and it seems all is lost. The feeling of family felt real within this book... both good and bad. It wasn't all warm and fuzzy. They have issues to work through. I loved Skylar. I really hope she's one of the Seven Brides in future books in this series. I'm excited for more in general. In already attached to this family. The ARC of The Bride Wore Denim by Lizbeth Selvig was kindly provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.

ARC requested through Edelweiss and kindly provided by Avon Impulse Publishing in exchange for a honest review. This book was my introduction to this authors work and I have to admit that I really enjoyed this story. It was refreshing to read something new and just dive right in and explore a new writing style. The story line was beautifully written, and was really easy for me to connect to, and just fall right into and enjoy. This is the first installment in Ms. Selvig's new series, and I have no doubt that fellow readers will adore the Crockett Family, they are a very unique bunch of characters with very entertaining stories to tell. I, myself, am very excited to see what is in store for this family and cannot wait to read the next installment in the series. I thoroughly enjoy reading second chance love stories and this one DEFINITELY hit the mark! Cole and Harper's chemistry was evident from the start, I loved the flirty banter between them, and enjoyed watching them find their way back to one another. Harper is somewhat of a free spirit who left home long ago to find her place art world, leaving behind a family who didn't except or truly understand her dream. When she left home she also left behind the one person who ever truly understood her, her best friend and secret crush Cole Wainwright. Cole, however, was her older sisters ex-boyfriend, so of course that made him totally off limits to Harper....or did it? With her father's passing Harper finds herself returning to the one place she always tried to avoid... home. Her return trip home ends of being full of surprises and full of encounters with the handsome who stole her heart long ago! I highly recommend you acquaint yourself with the Crockett Family, you will NOT be disappointed. This story will warm your heart, make you laugh and satisfy all of your reading needs!

Fantastic beginning to a new series from this author! After the death of their father all the Crockett sisters have returned to Paradise Ranch. The last person Harper Crockett wanted to see while she was home is Cole Wainright. On again off again boyfriend of sister Mia, and Harper's teenage crush. Cole has known Mia wasn't the woman for him for a while, what he hadn't realized was that her younger sister Harper most definitely was!! This is a wonderful small town romance that has a great set of characters, is well written, and definitely left me wanting more! I can't wait for the next one in the series. I highly recommend this book for everyone!

The Bride wore Denim is a fun, yet unique story. Can I just say the title drew my attention to the book. It fits Harper's personality perfectly. Harper has never been afraid to stand out. Now she is determined to blend in and make her family proud. At ever turn she is finding that just is not who she is. The things she tries to change are what Cole likes most about her. The problem? Cole belongs to someone else. The Bride Wore is Denim encourages being true to who and what a person is meant to be. Being unique is what makes us special. I received an ARC of this story from Edelweiss for an honest review.
