Overview

The Bus Before Christmas is a very short poem about a grim and surly ride to the Port Authority Bus Station in the dead of night.

It is gritty and humorous, and shows the seamy side of poverty, alcoholism, and loneliness.

This is a witty and truthful poem about how it feels to ride via cheap transportation when one simply must get from Point A to Point B, told with wry humor. It is short, to the point, and provides vivid imagery without causing depression despite its realism.
