Voya Reviews, April 2014 (Vol. 36, No. 1) - Suanne Roush
DK has released another title in the Big Ideas Simply Explained series. This newest title is a comprehensive coverage of business, addressing such topics as money management, leadership and human resources, starting and growing a business, marketing, production, and operations. Discussed is not only what has worked for successful businesses but also what has not worked, and why being the first with an idea is not always the best. In short chapters, chunking the information, DK continues what it does best: covering large amounts of information in easy-to-understand language. This is a more comprehensive volume than the highly colorful, short volumes for which DK is known. The clip art is clear, and context chronology windows open each section. The photographs are highly pixelated, and it is hoped that the finished edition will have clearer ones, perhaps in color. This title will be popular with adults in public libraries and may be of use in high schools with courses in business entrepreneurship or economics. It is definitely a title worth having in the collection. Reviewer: Suanne Roush; Ages 17 to Adult.

Covering some of the most interesting ideas about how to run a business, this visually appealing title offers chapters on leadership, marketing, finances, production, and operations. A new idea is presented every two pages, with key events related to that idea and a very short biography of the writer who came up with it.
