Just finished this book and I loved it. Historical fiction at it's best. Highly recommended!

This book revealed new perspectives on the titanic. I enjoyed the European influence and also how the author wove historical events to help the reader keep the timeline in perspectuve as well. I will look for her other books as well.

The background and historical aspect kept it interesting, but the book was so poorly written I couldn't finish it and I am not one who easily gives up on novels. Specifically, there was very little in the way of character development and it was hard to feel anything for the characters at all. Typically if I find that I have made an error in choosing a book, I can muddle through and finish it because I care about the characters. Not so with this one. Also, the use of modern slang mixed in drove me a bit batty- I think I put the book down for good when one of the characters used the term "digs" to refer to their place of dwelling. Combined with no clear direction and the constant jumping from character to character, it is really not worth picking up and wasting your time and money.

I really enjoyed this besutiful story. I loved learning in detail about each of the characters and knowing each one's joy and pain. I was impressed with the history references and was overjoyed with the ending. Life is not easy .... everyone has a story to tell. I will look for other books from this author.

a very good read. I would read more of her books. It was well written, going from one generation to the next.

This book has it all wrapped up in one package. The Titanic intrigues me. I love genealogy and family history. Throw in some suspense and a mystery. Sprinkle in a few love stories. Not too short, not too long. For me, just right!

Nice long read. Lots of years pass and it all comes together in the end.

It was an "OK" read. The story line was predictable but I did enjoy some of the historical elements.
