About the Author

A typical Piscean, award winning USA Today! bestselling author, Yvonne Lindsay, has always preferred the stories in her head to the real world. Which makes sense since she was born in Middle Earth. Married to her blind date sweetheart and with two adult children, she spends her days crafting the stories of her heart and in her spare time she can be found with her nose firmly in someone else’s book.

Can't put it down

A Sweet Christmas Read! Faye hates Christmas. The last place she wanted to be was in Wyoming decorating her boss's house for Christmas. All she wants to do is finish the job and head home to sunny Southern California where she can hole up in her condo and forget that it's Christmas. She also wants nothing to do with babies, so she when she finds one in the garage as she is leaving, she is happy to hand him off to her boss and get on the road. A snowstorm and a downed tree, send her back to the house where she is stranded with her boss and a baby, at Christmas. Piers had managed to keep Faye purely in the assistant spot for the past 3 years, especially since she was irreplaceable at her job. The unexpected arrival of a baby, which may be his brother’s, and being stranded with Faye, make him start to see things differently. Piers doesn't think twice about doing everything for the baby, and can't understand why Faye shies away, despite her obvious knowledge. Realizing quickly that, he had finally found what he's been looking for, Piers is determined to figure out what in Faye's past has turned her so against babies, and Christmas. This is a sweet story with interesting characters. I really enjoyed getting to know Piers and Faye, as well as watching their relationship take the turn. This is a story that doesn't disappoint!

It's quite funny that I just did a review for Lindsay's One Heir...or Two just before because it reminds me a little of this story. Only instead of the man running from love and commitment, it's the heroine. Faye has a tragic history. We learn almost immediately that she lost her entire family at Christmas time some years ago, including her new baby brother. So when her boss, Piers Luckman, needs her to decorate his lodge in rural Wisconsin...or the ice and snow, she is already unhappy about the situation. What follows is what she would consider her worst nightmare. A baby is left on the doorstep. A baby that is supposed to belong to a Mr Luckman. It could be Piers, though the times don't fit, or it could be his brother, who died not long after the baby was conceived. Piers is pretty much a problem solver and while he knows nothing about babies, he's concerned enough to want to take care of what is possibly the last link to his twin. Faye knows more than enough about babies but she is terrified to let herself become involved. There is too much pain in her past and baby Casey is bringing it all back. All she wants to do is run, even though Piers is starting to mean more to her than he should. This was a nice story, suitable for Christmas though most of the later action in the story is post-Christmas. Piers is a lovely hero who after being a playboy for years, is starting to look at life in a different way after the wake up call of his brothers death. Faye at times was immature, but that's part of her growth arc in this story which is largely about her facing her past and letting go. Overall a nice story. I'm not a big fan of boss and PA stories because it always irritates me when the PA spends the time in the run-up to the story handing off the equivalent of a pink slip, aka jewellery, to his ex lovers. In this case, Lydia, his most recent ex, gets far more airtime than I felt comfortable with, even though she was out the door before the story starts. I know why, and it makes sense in context of the hero's growth as a person but it's something I don't like. That might be why it didn't quite push me over the edge into 5 star territory because otherwise it was a very emotional story.

The Christmas Baby Bonus was a fabulous book that I couldn’t put down. Immediately I was drawn into Piers and Faye’s relationship. Both had tragedies they needed to overcome. Piers’ recently lost his brother while Faye lost her entire family. Enter a baby left on a doorstep and each is faced with their pasts. This was a fantastic read that I highly recommend. I received an advance copy that I voluntarily chose to read. This is my true and honest opinion.

An innocent baby, her sexy as all get out boss and a massive winter storm ... what else could go wrong?? A touching story of overcoming tragedy even after closing yourself off from the world. The characters were fun to get to know, and the plot was fulfilling.  Just as she's on the brink of escaping the Christmas nonsense her sexy boss insists upon, Faye Darby stumbles upon an abandoned baby at her boss's vacation lodge. Past trauma has her wanting nothing to do with Christmas or a baby ... no matter how adorable he may be! ... but Mother Nature has other ideas in her mind as she winds up snowbound with the likes of both! Piers Luckman had no idea he had a buried family man buried inside himself ... but spending days on end snuggled up with an adorable baby and a prickly yet lovely lady has all kinds of ideas floating around in his head!
