After losing his best friend to another guy, the notoriously too-confident Max Emory suddenly feels lost. He may have devastatingly good looks, an abundance of charm, and a claim to one of the biggest hotel empires around, but he has no ambition anymore. So when his fed-up friends decide they’ve had enough of his moping, they sign him up to be the next bachelor on the reality series Love Island. And between his pride and his forged signature on an ironclad contract, Max just can’t say no.

Now he’s stranded in paradise with twenty-four women, one terrifying goat, and Becca, the breathtaking barista who already turned him down back home. The closer Max gets to Becca, the more determined he becomes to win her over. As she gets to know him better, things start heating up. But is Becca really after Max’s heart—or is she after the cash prize she could claim once the cameras stop rolling?

5 star This books pulls you right in. The story has a ton of laughs, sadness, pain, betrayal, sneaky fun, and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first The Consequence of Loving Colton (Consequence, #1) This is Becca and Max’s story. Max was signed up for a reality show by his best friend’s brother.  Now he is going on an island with a few cray-cray woman and some sane ones.  On the island he has to weed out the cray-cray woman and find the one sane one he just might fell for.  During the show he makes a few friends one is a goat and one a gecko.  He names them both.  He also makes friends with one of the woman.  He falls for her hard.  He makes funny jokes to get himself through all the dates and challenges.  Can he count on the woman in the end to pick him or the money?  Which will Becca choose in the end will she choose him or will she choose the money?  I recommend this story, and this author. Can’t wait to read the next story in this series!

Even though this is the second book in the Consequence series it can be read as a stand alone. But why wouldn't you want to read them all?!?! Rachel has out done herself, The Consequence of Revenge is absolutely hilarious! There were some scenes that had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! If you are looking for a sweet, funny romance then look no further. This book is fantastic!

Max? Dear, sweet, hilarious, Max. What the hell have you gotten yourself into this time? Rachel Van Dyken takes you into the world of television and reality shows. I hope that the future Bachelor’s do not have to endure what Max did. The Consequence of Revenge was a great follow-up to The Consequence of Loving Colton. The plot and storyline was hilarious. Like I said earlier, if this happened to anyone in real life, he would need lots of prayers and a great medical insurance policy. I really liked Becca. She was not at all what I was expecting. She held her own against the craziness that was Max and Co. I also liked the other side she brought out in him. That’s the part I think I liked the best…the other Max. Overall: I loved the storyline, it was hilarious. Max, well, he was Max. Funny, sweet, swoon worthy, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. A great sequel in this series. Can’t wait to see what Rachel comes up with next. Will it be Jason or Reid who get it next?

4.5 Star Read, You feel me. So even though I am a huge fan of Van Dyken's books the first book in this series was just a little over the top for me with the goofiness. Even so, I knew I was gonna have to read Max's book to see what was going to happen. After all, it involved a dating show, so that would make for an interesting story. Well, let me say I am sooo glad I didn't give up on this series because I really enjoyed this book. Happily, Van Dyken did dial it back a bit with the shenanigans and we really got to appreciate Max and Becca's story more. Still with the whole crazy gang getting together, there were those silly moments. Max's inner dialogue was pretty funny and I found him to be a likable hero of sorts. Becca was also refreshing in that she could dish it out to Max just as well. Overall, I was really pleased with this book and will be more than happy to give the others in the series a try. I really want to get to know Reid better, so maybe his will be next. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After College Max feels like he's lost his best friend to the love of her life and he is unsure what he wants to do with his future. He finds himself stuck on a Bachelor show set up by his friends and brother to get him out of his funk. How bad can it be to be stuck on an island with 25 crazy women? This book will have you laughing out loud!! I love the story line and all the characters created in this book. Can't wait to see who's story comes next

Provided by Netgalley/ Skyscape Amazon for honest review. Max is one of those characters that you either absolutely love or you hate him. I loved him in the first book and it just grew from there. His sense of humor and personality make him a very fun, lovable guy and when he gets sent on a reality TV show as revenge, he takes it like a champ; ends up finding his one and even a few new 4 legged friends along the way. This book isn’t outrageously hilarious like the first one but it was still funny and I found myself smiling through pretty much the whole book. Plenty of shenanigans to keep you entertained and a sweet romance to balance it out. From reading some reviews of the first book, it seemed as though some people felt the first book was a little over the top. I think those people would enjoy this book because it was toned down a bit. I would recommend it to everyone

I was so excited to read this book after the first in this series "The Consequence Of Loving Colton", and I was not disappointed. Loved Max's story!  After Milo, Max's best friend for the last four years gets  married he is lost without her, he doesn't know what to do, so Jason, Milo, Colton and Reid sign him up to be the next Bachelor on "Love Island Sink or Swim".  Max Emory has never been in love before,  he is more of a one night stand type of guy. So how much silly, craziness is he going to endure and create with 25 women, a underwear eating "Hades" the goat, "Little G" the gecko, and Sharks. Through contests and dates this will make you laugh out loud and giggle your a** off.   "He made no sense, but was so entertaining I was never bored.  Max effect- Drops everyone's IQ and maturity, Tragic really".  Filled with a lot of funny crazy antics. Face it anyone who is going to fall in love with Max is going to have to appreciate his special kind of crazy and embrace it. But also filled with some heartwarming moments, and the tenderness of first love. Will he find love and will they pick him or the $250 Thousand prize. You are just going to have to read it to find out. Loved this Hilarious, Crazy Romance story.  I highly recommend this story!  Can't wait for the next one. This revenge stuff is off the charts!   Received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
