Overview

Book 0 (Prequel) in the bestselling Cowboys of Chance Creek series.

When Sunshine Patterson loses her Chicago home, job and boyfriend in one day, she needs a backup plan, fast. Luckily her Aunt Cecily has provided her with the perfect combination living and restaurant space to start over. Even though the building is located in small town Chance Creek, Montana, Sunshine is certain it's only a matter of time before she's back to take the big city by storm. When she arrives in Chance Creek, however, she gets a surprise. Her restaurant space—and apartment—are occupied by a rival to her inheritance: the incredibly sexy, incredibly wrong for her, Cole Linden.

Cole's been struggling to save his family's holdings for far too long. The indoor rifle range he inherited from his father barely pays its rent, but it's all that's keeping his other concerns—two apartment houses—afloat. If he was smart, he'd walk away from all of it and start over, but if he does, several dozen of Chance Creek's inhabitants will find themselves without a home. He thought Cecily meant to leave him the range building in her will. Instead she's set him up in a four-month-long competition with her big-city niece to see who will win the place. A niece whose knockout looks are making it damn hard for him to concentrate on the job at hand.

Sunshine can't believe she'll have to open a vegan restaurant in a rifle-range waiting room, and she can't believe she'll have to share her apartment with Cole, either. Cole can't believe his friends are falling over themselves to help Sunshine succeed—and get a date with her.

Now the competition is getting hot, but the sparks flying between them are even hotter. Can Cole and Sunshine find a way they both can win?

Selected this book based on the overview. Woman character came off as dumber than dumb. Read twenty pages and that was all the torture my brain could tolerate. The end. "Ain't gonna read no more by this critter."

OMW! I struggled through 14 pages and gave up. The inconsistency of the characters made the storyline hard to swallow. The stupidity of the woman made me dislike her in 14 pages. If I had paid for this, I would get my money back. If I had checked this book out from the library, I would return it and hope that it was misfiled so it never came to light of day again!

Well written and worth the read. I just wish these two were mentioned in the other books in her series as others are.

I liked the short story, 104 pages, Sunshine was a little off putting at first, but got over that & it turned out to be a really good read. 3.5 stars. Much better than the next book I'm trying to read where 4 women go back to Jane Austin era, having a really, really hard time getting into it & I'm half way thru it. The only one by this writer that I haven't liked.I will finish it & hope she pulls it out of tire (deleted) books. GJRA

Thought this was a cute story. Nothing out of this world, but a quick fun read.

Light hearted quick read at about 104 pages. Didn't see any typos. I can understand some reviewers initial dislike of the heroine. I just think they didn't read enough so see what a hard working fun person she turned out to be.

I love the way the author switches the point of veiw with the main charectors so we know what they feel and what they think.

Enjoyed this wonderful short story. Seemed like Sunshine's Aunt Cecily decided to play matchmaker. She set it up that Sunshine her niece and the current tenant, Cole had to spend 4 mos together if either of them wanted to keep the place. With a shooting range and a vegan cafe, what could possibly go wrong? Enjoyed this story and Sunshine & Cole do get their HEA!
