Rowdy loves the rush that comes from being a Navy SEAL, but finding out he’s about to become a dad? That trumps everything. While he and Tiffany shared only one night, Rowdy’s determined to do right by her and their baby. His next mission—to win Tiffany and keep his son—might be his toughest yet…

His next mission—to win Tiffany and keep his son—might be his toughest yet… My Review of "The Cowboy SEAL's Jingle Bell Baby": Congratulations to Laura Marie Altom for her story line and showing a different solution to unexpected pregnancy from a one night stand. Overwhelmed Tiffany feels adoption is the best solution for the baby's future and hers. Rowdy wants to do right by his child and make a home for his son and Tiffany with him, but he has a few doubts as well. Together they work through the questions and options before a final decision is made. Humor was used to keep the story light, but at times it seemed to interfere with the characters' development. One moment they seemed mature in their actions and I wanted them to work it out and at others I thought they were immature and thought adoption was the best option. The ending is touching. I would have liked a better epilogue that was more fleshed out. Not a long one, but perhaps another page or two to show the choice made worked out for both parents. My rating for "The Cowboy SEAL's Jingle Bell Baby" was 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given it a 4.75 except for the aforementioned problems I had with the story. I did enjoy the book and felt it was a good read, but felt it could have been even better.

I applaud the author for writing a story around a difficult and sensitive topic - giving a baby for adoption after a one-night stand with a stranger ends up in pregnancy. Rarely is this seen in romance novels even as an option, not to mention a serious consideration, as Tiffany was ready to give the baby for a loving home to be raised before Rowdy found out about the baby. And the plot itself is well thought out, I think this could have been a great story indeed, I just had a little problem with the characters, or more likely how they were presented. Every single person in the tale was the caricature of their stereotype. And I am thinking this might have been meant to humorous but I was mostly embarrassed while reading, not knowing what to think about them. Tiffany's dreams and hopes for her future were centered around a perfect manicure, and Rowdy, well he didn't come off as the sharpest knife in the toolbox. Even the secondary characters were a parody of the worst possible stereotype. Tiffany and Rowdy with their constant fighting and sparring with each other and about the matter of adoption and future was tiresome, so that instead of being sensitive and deeply felt story, it ended up being a satire of cowboy and a debutante. Obviously, I didn't connect with the writing style, or the sense of humor, or at least with the characters. Maybe my expectations were off. And I do admit, the caricatures were well done, so most likely someone else will find them hilarious while I felt awkward. But since the storyline was fresh and original, that I am ready to give ~ Three Spoons

3 1/2 STARS! An interesting plot centering around a subject that isn't touched on too much in romance novels ... whether to give your baby up for adoption or not. I was happy with the ending, and I liked the characters most of the time, but I did find myself wanting more. More chemistry and connection to help them agree on their future, and less dragging it out and changing each others minds time and again. Tiffany Lawson hasn't been having things easy lately. She swore off men after being let down by the ones in her life previously, so how did she now find herself pregnant by a one-night stand cowboy when all she should be doing is making ends meet to support her mom and grandma? She doesn't have a lot of options with what the immediate future holds, so she has found the perfect family to adopt her son. Navy SEAL Rowdy Jones didn't expect to find a message telling him he was going to be a daddy when he got back from his latest deployment! He's footloose and fancy free and loves his thrill seeking job, but when he hears her say the words that she's giving his son to someone else, he jumps into action. He's determined to do right by Tiffany and their baby, but will her valid points about their future have him second guessing himself and what's right?
