The Deerslayer; or, The First Warpath

The last in a series of books known as the Leather-Stocking Tales, "The Deerslayer" is really an introduction to an American time which came to terms with natural talents versus codes of behavior governing the new civilization. Here we are presented the pioneers and their valorous characteristics which formed the nation. It is an impassioned and murderous beginning full of promise and misadventure.
