I love this series. Walter Sands is a great private eye and i love all his friends too. I can't wait for the 3rd book in the series. The writing is great and the story is believable and the violence is not over the top. Ive been finding it difficult to connect with most characters lately but I find it easy to understand these characters motives and that makes for an enjoyable read.

characters are well worked, full and interesting, the mystery isn't the greatest, but it's spiced up with a dystopian setting. I enjoyed it.

In the second "Last P. I." novel, Walter Sands reluctantly works for the federal government, protecting the President when she makes a trip to New England. While the mystery isn't as complex as the one in Dover Beach, Bowker takes the chance to fill in details about his post-apocalypse America. I like Walter: he's believably young and not especially good at his job, which becomes amusingly clear at one point in the novel. And given his mental abilities, of course he would occupy himself during a stake-out by reciting Shakespeare's Richard II." The other characters are equally well-drawn, including the President, who is both charismatic and manipulative; there's a wonderful scene between her and Walter early in the book. While I figured out the solution to the mystery well before Walter did, I really enjoyed the journey. I started the third book 30 seconds after finishing this one; I look forward to learning more about Walter and his world.

Loved this book and the first in the series (Dover Beach). Creative world. Story moves along with lots of color in the detail but never drags. Really hoping a third book in the series in coming. Found a needle in the haystack with this series.

"RWBY is a web series, or started off as one, that's kind of like an anime, except made by Americans."

The idea of going backward in a techo world is interesting. Also no matter what the age or time there is always going to be crime.
