Daffodil Farthingale, known as Dillie to her friends and family, is horrified to learn the man she has just rescued from ruffians outside the Farthingale townhouse is none other than Ian Markham, the notorious Duke of Edgeware. If the Chipping Way bachelor curse holds true, she's doomed to marry the wretched rakehell. Dillie wants a man who will love her and be faithful in the marriage. The duke will never do, for he harbors secret torments and has sworn he will never fall in love or marry. When scandal breaks--after all, he does spend a week recovering in her bed--Dillie leaves London, little knowing that the handsome duke has just left town as well. With the Farthingale family and his assailants on their trail, Ian and Dillie suddenly find themselves trapped in the same charming inn during a torrential rainstorm. Can Ian overcome his haunted past, and can Dillie ever overcome her mistrust of him... to wind up falling in love?

The Duke I’m Going To Marry is book two in The Farthingale Series by Meara Platt. I wish I could give this book ten stars. If you love Julia Quinn and The Bridgerton series, you will adore Meara Platt’s The Farthingale books. I haven’t laughed this hard in a very long time. So much humor and steamy romance with some tear-jerking moments all rolled into one delicious Regency book. I couldn’t put it down and found myself reading far into the night. Platt creates wonderful characters who are so touchable they leap off the page. I adored the hero Ian Markham, The Duke of Edgeware. He is so edgy and such a rogue, yet when he meets Daffodil or Dillie Farthingale his heart is awakened to longings for love and family. I can’t wait to read the entire series!

Good writing. Witty and humorous. Now if I can only figure out how to buy the actual book on my IPad I’d be super thrilled.

The Duke I'm Going to Marry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Written by Meara Platt (Farthingdale #2) When Daffodil (Dillie) Farthingdale accidentally received her first kiss by Ian Markham, the Duke of Edgeware, she knew he was the one for her. Dillie never being one to shy away from trouble found herself saving the life of none other than the duke. She completely took over his recovery allowing him to reside in her bed. Her uncle George, a doctor, took care of his medical needs but she nursed him back to health. The Duke has seen Dillie or as he likes to tease her and call her Daffy blossom into a strong independent woman. Ian has become extremely attracted to Dillie but says he will never marry. Dillie, on the other hand, wishes only for a marriage of love and total commitment. Dillie knows Ian is tormented by his past being his family neglected childhood. Ian's family is ruthless. This author manages to convey a story of family mystery and abuse. She also conveys the aftermath of this on children into adults. This is a powerful story of triumph and finally finding love. I would recommend this novel. JFM

Could not put it down!!! The characters were real, the humor and pickles that Dille gets into will leave you laughing. The warmth and love they feel for each other goes beyond the written words.

Sweet and romantic story!  Captivating since page one!  This story had the right mix of everything: romance, intrigue, suspense, and passion.  The story was fast paced, funny and entertaining.  I loved the banter and bickering between the main characters.  I will be looking forward to reading the other books of the Farthingale Series.
