In the twilight of his years, Howard Martin makes a final journey to his family home in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where he intends to die on his own terms. Not long after he arrives, however, it becomes clear to him that he is not alone. Something dark and otherworldly has claimed the mountainside for its own and has taken a keen interest in the lonely old man.
