The Familiar Face (Jackson Thomas, #2)

Jackson returns to his job as a writer for Bloodhound Inc. Media after attempting to rebuild his life. On his first day back, Jackson discovers that a new photographer has been hired as his partner.

Shortly after returning to work, while covering a touring music festival, Jackson sees a face in the crowd that looks similar to Arthur Kershaw. Further attempts to investigate turn up nothing, however, and Jackson is left to wonder if his eyes are playing tricks on him or if there was something fishy about the actor's suicide the previous year.

Jackson dives deep into the investigation, helped along the way by a surprising ally: Jonah Brooks, a man who was involved in the conspiracy and has defected to the side of justice. He warns Jackson that anybody investigating Kershaw has a target on their back, shortly before he himself turns up dead on Skid Row. Jackson is left to find out the truth about the absconded junkie actor, as well as piece together what's happening around him in time to unmask a murderer and save his own life.
