It had a bit of a slow start, but now I can't wait to read the next part! There's a budding romance, a gruesome murder, and an obvious knowledge of tarot readings. I highly recommend it!

I was so excited for this series to get started and I love it.  The serial thing is a little tough on me, but so is the series thing and I love series.  I waited until I got The Chariot before I read The Fool but just couldn't wait for The Moon.   As always, L.j. Charles brings wonderful characters and a plot that I want solved NOW!  If you have read all of the Everly books, you met Cait, her cousin who has the craft artificially embedded in her DNA.  Because her parents turned so evil when they drank the elixir that gave them their powers, she is afraid to use hers but circumstances keep getting in her way.  They weren't exactly nice to begin with but Caitlyn has apparently gotten more from her father's family than from either of her parents.  If you haven't read the Everly Gray Mysteries, Ms Charles provides all the background you need to enjoy this series, but I hope you do go back and get to know Everly, Tynan, Mitch, Annie, and her brother who is a central character in this series. Although the paranormal plays into the whole story, it is a good mystery whether or not you enjoy the paranormal elements.  I enjoy them, so I think it adds a layer to the story. Cait's first full day in Hawaii has her literally tripping over a dead body right after she meets another witch who admits that the victim had been harassing her.  Cait feels compelled to follow her calling and find the real killer.
