The Footsteps That Stopped

First released in 1926, "The Footsteps That Stopped" is a classic British crime thriller set in the "Golden Age". Written by A.E. Fielding, whose own identity remains a mystery, this book follows Scotland Yard's chief his inspector pointer. A woman was found sitting next to a tea table with a gunshot wound to the heart from a World War I service revolver lying on the ground nearby. Poynter found that the death was in fact a homicide.
