The Getaway Groom (Summer Grooms Series, Book 4) by Ginny Baird

THE GETAWAY GROOM (Summer Grooms Book 4)
A feisty Southern belle meets a big-city bachelor when they're both on the run from heartache, and sparks fly.

Mark Delacroix is on the run from heartache. While his job setting up factories for DelaStar Drafts demands mobility, it's really his trouble with women that keeps Mark on the move. When Mark meets Ivy Green, his whole world changes. She's smart and sweet, and helps him see country life in a brand-new light. But can a pretty Southern belle change a big-city bachelor's mind about his destiny?

It's taken Ivy Green a lifetime to sort things out. What she wants and whom she loves, including which guy she can't get over. When Mark Delacroix arrives in Rosemont, the locals worry he'll destroy the town. Yet, he hopes to rebuild it, with Ivy's help. In return, Mark plays Ivy's date at her ex-fiancé's wedding, so she can prove to Rosemont – once and for all – that she's left Austin behind. But when she does, will another man take his place in her heart?

A sweet, PG-rated romantic comedy. Approximately 40,000 words.

The Getaway Groom is Book 4 in the Summer Grooms series that can be read as a stand alone. The story is a new look at the runaway bride story. Mark Delacroix and Ivy Green meet after a wedding that wasn't and appear to be an unlikely pair. But, like all the romance stories we love the most unlikely pairs sometimes finds a way to their happily-ever-after. Mark is new to town and various reasons is not very well liked. Ivy is a hometown girl who has big dreams but as not quite found a way to make her dreams come true. They both are headed down different paths. Will their paths some how intercept?  The bonus in this story is another love affair that happens along with the hero and heroine's. If you love a sweet romance set in a small town then you will love this one! Mrs. Baird is a great author who pulls you into every one of her stories. You will not be able to put this book down. I have not yet met a Ginny Baird story that I did not enjoy immensely. Ms. Baird creates from fun characters that have interesting personalities that makes for some fun story lines.  The Getaway Groom starts out with plenty of drama as Mark Delacroix runs away from his wedding. He ends up in Ivy Green's store and makes a complete mess of things. It's not long and Ivy has Mark cleaning up literally.  Things don't start off well for Mark and Ivy.  As they get to know each other though they find that they truly like each other. Ivy is a small town girl with hometown values. She is not pleased with Mark and a few of his plans for the town. That is until she finds out that Mark really does have some great ideas to help the town. This increases those intense sparks.  I think my favorite part of the story is when Mark tells Ivy's ex that he is her boyfriend. They are going to attend the ex's wedding together. As they get to know each other to be a pretend date things turn more real as time goes on. I always enjoy Ginny Baird's fun sweet romantic stories. I always fall for her characters and I enjoy her writing style. If you are looking for a fun sweet romance, then you really should pick up one of Ginny Baird's books. I'd recommend this one. It's a lot of fun but all her books are really great. The Getaway Groom is part of a series. I have not read the other books in this series and I had no problem at all reading it as a stand alone, so I don't think you will either. I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on The Getaway Groom.

The Getaway Groom is the fourth book in the Summer Grooms series. This can be read as a standalone story, which is wonderful because I have not read the first three books yet, so I did not have to worry about being lost while I was reading. The characters in this story vary in age, and I enjoyed the interactions between all of them. Ms. Baird even gives us a little blooming romance in the background of the main characters, which I loved just as much. I laughed at their antics, and I even cried a few times, so be prepared to do the same.  Mark Delacroix has left the city to come to Rosemont while he oversees the opening of a new factory in this small town. The locals fear he’s going to ruin their town with his factory, but DelaStar Drafts is all about helping the community, especially the towns where the factories are located. The day he meets a few of the locals he just happens to be on the run from his bride. Oh yeah, did I mention that he left her standing at the altar? This doesn’t make a good impression on the townsfolk. How can the trust someone who broke a promise to the woman he was supposed to marry. Ivy Green has lived in Rosemont her entire life. She left for a few years to attend college, but she came back and now works at the coffee shop in town. When Mark runs in he makes a bigger mess of things and that sets their first interactions off on the wrong foot. Neither one of them is ready for a new relationship, but sparks fly in that first meeting. When Ivy’s ex comes into the coffee shop inviting her to his wedding Mark agrees to go as her boyfriend to prove to the town that she can move on without her ex. What could possibly happen? It’s just a date for the wedding…Right?  I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
