The Great Thousand Years

"The Great Thousand Years," contains two essays. The title essay, written in 1908, and published in England in 1910, is a prophecy of the catastrophic breakdown of civilization, a breakdown foreseen by Dr. Cram when it was generally least foreseen. He prophesied what has since happened by means of his interesting theory of the rhythm of history, a postulate, that so far back as we can measure, civilization's tides ebb and flow in periods of five hundred years.
