About the Author

Stephen King is the author of more than sixty books, all of them worldwide bestsellers. His recent work includes The Outsider, Sleeping Beauties (cowritten with his son Owen King), the Bill Hodges trilogy End of Watch, Finders Keepers, and Mr. Mercedes (an Edgar Award winner for Best Novel and an AT&T Audience Network original television series). His novel 11/22/63 was named a top ten book of 2011 by The New York Times Book Review and won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Mystery/Thriller. His epic works The Dark Tower and It are the basis for major motion pictures, with It now the highest grossing horror film of all time. He is the recipient of the 2018 PEN America Literary Service Award, the 2014 National Medal of Arts, and the 2003 National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He lives in Bangor, Maine, with his wife, novelist Tabitha King.

Robin Furth is perhaps the only person around who knows more about the Dark Tower mythos than Stephen King himself, and is the author of The Dark Tower: The Complete Concordance.

Peter David is a prolific writer whose career, and continued popularity, spans more than twenty-five years. He has worked in every conceivable media—television, film, books (fiction, nonfiction, and audio), short stories, and comic books—and acquired followings in all of them.

Jae Lee is an Eisner Award winning comic book artist known for his interior illustration and cover work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, and Dynamite Entertainment.

Richard Isanove is one of the comic book industry’s premier color artists, skillfully transforming traditional black-and-white illustrations into richly rendered final compositions on such acclaimed series as Wolverine: Origin and Neil Gaiman’s 1602.

The essential storyline is excellent, although those not familiar with the book series may have a hard time following it. The problem with this edition (the bound hardcover), is that the small sidebars giving a history of the "Dark Tower" universe are completely missing. I found these to be a bigger draw than the storyline itself. This is a great story, but collect the individual comics and skip this edition.

I am not a graphic novel reader, but being a Stephen King obsessed fan I did read the first collection of the Dark Tower. Overall the interpretation was pretty good, even thought the dialogue seems stiff at times. The drawings are wonderful and are just how I pictured everything in my head when I read the books. I am reading the next collected installment and am hoping it is just as good.

First Book in a comic book look of the The Dark Tower in hard/paperback series of seven books. This is mostly centers around the first three books the story behind the story not in the books. Very will put together by the Marvel artist.

The story has very awesome characters, and has a different but cool take on westerns. The artwork is unbelievable! A must own for graphic novel readers.

This is the first time I've been interested in a graphic novel. I love all the DT books and loved this too. I can't wait for the next one!

I been hearing so much about this series. And the author. I only seen the movies based on some of the books. As for this one? Well, I been reading a lot of graphic novels lately. So this one sounded good. And it was interesting. Especially the tone and art style was really good.

Never read the books but the art is good which flows extremely well with the story. This whole Lord of the Rings/ Man with No Name/ Fantasy Cowboy story makes for an interesting and compelling story arch.
